*Atton had remained silent and on task as they hefted the beacon to the airlock then sent it on it's way out the ship. There would only be one good reason for why Atton was in such a state. Typically the rogue turned Jedi was all mouth dripping with sarcasm. His silence, while probably considered golden by others, typically meant he was thinking over something. That something was the Republic and the arrest of the Jedi.
Atton was thinking from his standpoint as an old soldier. He knew all too well that there were those that would follow the orders without blinking. Too many soldiers would gladly do anything, including recklessly throwing away their lives, if it meant fulfilling an order. Atton was not one of those soldiers, and as unique as he thought himself, he knew he wasn't the only one who would readily question orders he didn't agree with.
There had to be plenty of soldiers questioning this decision to arrest Jedi. There were probably even a surprising amount that would defy those orders. Atton had to wonder what it'd be like if he was still a Republic soldier in the midst of all this. He was curious to see each individual soldier's reaction and what their stance would be. Would they reluctantly follow orders? Would they readily follow them? Would they openly defy them? Atton already knew where he would stand, even if he had remained a Republic soldier, didn't follow Revan, and never met the Exile. He would quickly defy these orders.
Granted, Atton didn't know all the details, he just knew how to bet well. Atton followed Kali back into the cockpit as he brushed away the thoughts. When the Exile relinqueshed the pilot's seat, Atton slid into the all-too-familiar chair and finally chimed in as he began to work his magic.*
Now to Wookieeland. Let's just hope they don't have any sympathies for that oversized walking carpet of death that we met on Nar Shaadda.
*Atton was referencing Hanharr, of course. Atton never really knew what became of that crazy Wookiee, but he was just glad he never bumped into him one on one and nor was he inclined to go find out whatever became of him. Some things just needed to stay in the past.*
And here...we...go...
*On que, the stars become a stream of light as the Ebon Hawk hit hyperspace yet again. The group were bound for Kashyyyk, for better or worse Atton couldn't tell.*
