*The blast door to the cockpit suddenly slams shut before Bandon can get there, causing him to smile grimly. So there WAS someone on board! Must be a droid though, or else they would have... Bandon's thought process is interrupted as he hears a hissing noise and looks up at the vents to see a faintly visible green gas being pumped out of them.
He surrounds himself with a protective Force bubble to protect himself from the fumes and then hesitates, debating whether or not to cut his way into the cockpit. Pity he wasn't carrying a gas mask, or he would without question. Obviously someone wanted to keep him out of there, so just as obviously Bandon wanted in all the more. But if he was right and it was just a droid, it probably wasn't really worth his time, especially since he could only keep the Force bubble up for so long before it became a strain.
After a moment he decides that he can always come back later or send an underling in. Clearly whoever was using the ship was not here at the moment - except for the droid, of course, and he was wasting time here when instead he should be tracking down where they went. Still, a quick look around at the parts of the ship that weren't blocked off wouldn't hurt. Heading back to the main room, he takes a right, towards the port side of the ship, with his lightsaber still at the ready.*

*HK-47 hears the Sith approach, and steps out into view in the middle of the corridor*
Exclamation: Surprise, meatbag!
*HK immediately activates his Baragwin Flame Thrower and envelops the entire corridor with giant fireball of plasma, then fires off a Master Sniper Shot at the ugly bald fleshling*

*Bandons sense of danger triggers a moment too late and he is indeed caught by suprise - apparently the droid was not in the cockpit after all! His Force bubble does little to protect him from the flames but fortunately for him his custom armor does. He reflexively covers his face with his arms but its good he was already bald because if he had had any hair on his head it would have been mostly burned off, and in spite of its flame resistant properties his armor was now uncomfortably warm and rather charred. At this range it is nearly impossible for the droid to miss but instead of hitting him between the eyes the sniper shot hits him in the left forearm, biting through the armor.*
-health to 6/10-
*Bandon retaliates by using a single blade of his double-ended lightsaber (being in the tight quarters of the ship he had only ignited one end) to slash at the droid's blaster rifle while using Master Destroy Droid with his wounded arm. He then unleases a powerful Force Wave in an effort to hurl the droid down the cooridor into the bulkhead.*

*The tip of HK's blaster rifle is severed, and then he is slammed back into the bend in the corridor behind him, his durasteel plating crackling from Bandon's Force attack* (Health to 7/10)
*HK slumps to the ground, and acts before he gets up. He extends his left arm and activates his Baragwin Stun Ray, sending a super-cooled beam of energy at the Sith to temporarily freeze him. HK then throws the useless blaster rifle at the intruder and activates his Flame Thrower once again. Again the flames envelop the corridor, then the powerpack on the blaster rifle explodes. HK then stands to full height*
*In the cockpit T3-M4 is watching the exchange take place. He tries to comm Kali, but gets no response. He tries all the others, but none of them are responding either. They must all be in the caves. And with Ze gone, he and HK were one their own. Switching back to the internal holofeed, T3 observes HK-47 light the corridor in fire yet again, then there is a large explosion. The fumes didn't appear to be slowing the Sith down. But maybe something else would*
*T3 rotates his connection with the Ebon Hawk and access internal lifesupport again, bringing up the artificial gravity system. HK and T3 could still operate in up to ten times the normal gravitational force, but the likelyhood of the Sith being able to claim the same was unlikely. T3, plugs into the system and increases the artificial gravity in the deckplates to seven times the normal amount. If that didn't pin the Sith to the floor, it would at least slow him down*

*Bandon had been certain that he had completely disabled the droid, and he scowls as he sees that the kriffing thing still has some fight in it. No longer caught off guard by a suprise attack, Bandon dodges to one side to avoid the stun ray while thowing up a Force Barrier just outside of his weakening Force Bubble. The liquid flame from the flamethrower splashes against the shimmering barrier, which also ends up protecting Bandon from the explosion that occurs soon after. However, the barrier does not shield him completely from the concussive force of the explosion contained in the cooridor.*
-health to 5/10-
*Bandon regains his footing and blasts the persistent droid with Improved Force Lightning (realising that a full Force Storm would be counterproductive in this situation) and then brandishes his lightsaber to finish the droid off. He manages about two steps before noticing the growing increase in gravity. The change is not instantaneous, but still fairly quick and after struggling another few steps Bandon decides he can't fight the environment and the droid at the same time. Not only is there the close quarters and increased gravity, but he can't maintain the bubble protecting him from the poisonous fumes forever.*
"This isn't over, droid! Either you can follow me outside or wait until I return, but either way will destroy you."
*Dropping to his knees, Bandon plunges his lightsaber blade down through the already weakened deckplates. Gritting his teeth with effort he quickly cuts a circle around himself through the ship's hull, and promptly drops through the hole to the landing pad beneath.
Walking out from under the ship, Bandon brushes himself off while keeping alert in case the droid does follow after him. He rather hopes it will. Out here in the open without ship systems working against him, Bandon would have the clear advantage. A hapless citizen has the tragic misfortunate to be walking by at that very moment, and Bandon lashes out with Drain Life, using the man's life energies to heal his burns and the blaster wound on his left forearm. The man cries out in agony before dropping lifeless to the ground.*

*HK get hit by the lightning, and takes heavy damage as his circuits fry* (Health to 4/10)
*As the Sith cuts a hole through the ship and escapes HK is helpless to stop him as he fires his stun ray again to stop him, but it has no affect due to the Sith's Force Barrier. After the Sith escapes HK walks over to the hole then back into the main hold before opening up his comm with T3 in the cockpit*
Statement: The meatbag has fled. Seal off junctions five through eight to prevent re-entry.
Dweeop dwwoo!
*T3 closes the blast door to the port side of the ship as well as the blast doors in all adjacent corridors to where the hole is, then suddenly Kali's voice comes over the Ebon Hawk's comm*
::T3, come in. Prep the ship for takeoff, we're going to -::
BWEEEOOP ZEEP! Beedeet! Weeweeoop, beedeet beboop deetdeet!
::Woah, woah, slow down! What happened!? A Sith!?::

::Okay... okay... start the ship up and get it over to the cave entrance near the Sandral estate. If the Sith know we're here we don't have much time. Get moving now!:
Beep!
*Kali closes the commlink channel to T3 and T3 starts up the engines. He does a quick sweep of all the holofeeds to make sure the ship is clear before taking off, then lifts it up and heads for the location Kali instructed*

*Kali storms up the ramp, knowing that she was probably too short with them. Some of her less attractive qualities were coming out. She wishes that she could blame it just on the Holocrons, and that was certainly half of it, but truth be told it felt like the Wars all over again. She'd been content with flying around on the Hawk, doing what she could to train a few new Jedi. But the reformed Council just had to put in charge of a fleet group. Experience, they called it. She called it bad memories. She walks onto the Hawk, and the instant she hits the deck plating she collapses to the ground* "Gah!" *She tries to push herself up, but it felt as if the gravity was ten times than normal, and there was a very distasteful odor lingering in the air* "Tee....three...." "Dweep? Dweeooeoeoeoep!
*T3 spins around and quickly darts to the cockpit, resetting the gravity plating to normal. He had forgotten to turn it back down after the Sith Lord had escaped - being that the increased gravity didn't effect either him or HK-47. He also purges the internal filtering system of any remaining noxious fumes, resetting environmental systems to normal**Kali stands back up* " Thank you. I would ask, but I get the feeling that I'd rather not know." *She walks to the comm and opens up a secure transmission to the Dauntless*

*Atton boared the Ebon Hawk. This had practically been his home for a good while. Honestly, he felt more comfortable sleeping aboard the Hawk than he did in some guest quarters or some such on a republic ship.
As he made his way through the ship, he went into the cargo hold. There sat some containers of drinks, cooled in what they were being contained in. Atton had obviously been here a time or two. A good drink or two helped him clear his mind and even forget about some things for a moment. The stash that was left here had been very convienent for him.
As he digs through, he finds a bottle of Corellian ale. Giving it a quick light shake, he looks around. He'd have to find a couple of glasses for the bottle, so he walks out of the cargo hold and back to a place where he knew there would be a couple of glasses. Finding where they were kept, he begins rummaging through for a couple of nice glasses.*

*After walking around about the ship a while, taking in all the rooms and familiar corridors she joins Atton and his stash in the cargo hold. It'd been over a month since she'd been aboard - a very long time considering this ship is the place she considered "home." She sits down on a plasteel cylinder and watches Atton dig around for a bottle or two.*
"So... what's new with you?"
*Wow... that wasn't an awkward conversation starter at all.*

*Atton found a couple of glasses and began pouring the ale as Kali started their conversation. Atton didn't even think that it might be an awkward conversation starter, he wasn't paying full attention. He had to make sure he didn't spill any.*
Just fixing up the Hawk. She's pretty much all patched up now. I've just been fiddling with the minor systems for the past couple days. I'm no Bao-Dur but I managed to pick up a few tricks from him before we parted ways.
I'd ask what you've been doing, but I think I got an idea earlier. You usually don't take me so seriously.
*Atton walked over with both glasses and handed her one.*
One drink, as you wanted. Should hit the spot. Corellian Ale is a classic.
*Atton paused for a moment then raised his glass forward.*
To old times, and old friends.

*Kali takes the glass and inspects it as Atton informs her of the classic beverage. She raises an eyebrow toward him, but then holds her glass up as well.*"Old times, old friends."*Kali takes a sip of the drink, and the smooth alcohol courses through her. She takes a deep breath afterwards and lets the glass sit for a moment as she thinks of the toast. Old times and old friends. What she would give to see some of their faces again. She sighs and takes another small sip, resting her elbows on her knees as she sits on the plasteel cylinder. Then from outside the ship, they hear a shout. Kali recognizes it as Admiral Brex's.*"General? If you are aboard, I need to speak with you immediately."*Kali glances back at Atton and sighs.*"Duty calls.... I guess I should go see what this is all about."*Idly, Kali wonders why Brex hadn't just contacted her via the comm. Something was up. The Force and her previous experience with the Duros Admiral told her that much. She nods to Atton for him to follow, should he want to. She then walks down the boarding ramp back to the Dauntless 's hangar.*(Continued here)

*After the toast, Atton takes a sip himself. He began remembering some of the moments they had here on the Ebon Hawk. How were they good times? That's what he was really beginning to wonder. From what he remembered, he didn't like anybody and nobody really liked him for the longest time.
The only bright spot and the only thing that truly kept him around was Kali, despite what that old witch thought she was doing. She was really only playing on his attachment to Kali the whole time. However, the moment is interrupted after Atton's second sip. Atton gave a sigh. It was the first time he and Kali actually had time to spend with one another and the first time Atton actually wanted a moment with Kali since the whole Nar Shaadda incident.
However as Kali nods to him, Atton doesn't think twice about following her. He gets up and follows her out of the ship. She must have had the same nagging feeling in her gut that Atton had in his. Atton speaks aloud to himself as he exits the ship.*
I have a bad feeling about this.

*Kali backs her way up the boarding ramp, as she deflects blaster fire from the Republic Soldiers attempting to take her into custody. At the top of the ramp she slams her fist into the control panel and the ramp begins rising up. She deflects the last two blaster bolts as the hatch closes and seals, she then runs for the cockpit.*
"Atton, get us outta here now!"
*As she runs through the main hold, T3-M4 rolls out of the corridor leading to the Engine Room and twiddles a query*
Woo bee-doop, breep?
"Not now, Teethree!"
*Continuing to the cockpit, Kali slides into the co-pilot's seat and frantically starts secondary ignition sequences as T3 rolls in behind her. Outside, she can hear the familiar fwump fwump of blaster bolts hitting the Hawk's exterior hull*

No, really? I was thinking of taking a ten minute lunch break first.
*Atton's sarcastic response was to be expected. Sarcasm rarely left Atton. However, while he's making his remarks, he lifts the Ebon Hawk from the ground and the landing gear folds in. The ship turns to face the exit from the hanger and the Hawk goes speeding out of the hanger of the Republic ship.
They needed a destination fast. They needed a place to get away. They needed to hide yet again. This was an all too familiar scenerio for Atton.*

*Kali straps herself in as the Ebon Hawk shoots out of the hangar, looking out the side window she can see the Dauntless drifting further and further away. It wouldn't take them long to scramble fighters. She really didn't want to man the turrets... those things were so damn sluggish and she had had to use them far too often during the Purge. Then again, Brex might just forgo the fighters in favor of a tractor beam. The green sphere of Dantooine was directly below them, and on every side was a Republic warship. They had to make a jump to hyperspace NOW.*
"Teethree! Calculate a jump!"
Dweep dwoooo?
"I don't care where, just do it! Surprise me!"
Weeep, dwoooo....
*The little droid plugs into the astrogational chart and keys in a quick calculation. A few seconds later he beeps back to let Kali know he's done.*
Beoop.

Post by Atton Rand on Sept 16, 2011 23:00:35 GMT -5
Oh great. Tell me we're not letting the droid decide.
*Kali tells Atton to punch it.*
We let the droid decide.
*Atton punches it and the Ebon Hawk hits hyperspace going to some place only the droid knows. With the ship now in hyperspace, Atton swivels his chair around to go and take a look at the navigation charts and see where they were headed. As he looks it over, he gives a grunt of dissatisfaction.*
Great. We're headed to Kashyyyk. Home of big strong trees and big strong smells. Of course the droid won't have an issue with that because it can't smell.
*Atton slumps back in his chair as if defeated. This whole day had gone to Mustafar in a handbasket in just the blink of an eye. He had been just fine until Kali showed up. He had the quietest moments of his life, then she shows up and the Republic wants to arrest them.
Yet he still wasn't sure if he could attribute that to Kali's bad luck or his bad luck. Still. As pessimistic as he wanted to be, he didn't exactly want to snap on Kali. After all, she had done that to him and it didn't feel all that great.*
Well, I think I'm going to finish my ale. Or probably find a new bottle since the one I did have open likely spilled everywhere. I guess I'll go clean that up too.
*Atton was frustrated and yet he wouldn't vent it. Atton was pretty good about not reacting or showing what his real emotions were. He had come up with ways to keep people out of his head, after all. The last thing he wanted to do was slip up and show how truely aggitated he was at the whole scenerio.
Atton got up from the chair and went into the cargo hold. Just as he suspected ale was everywhere as well as broken glass from the bottle and glasses he and Kali had. Atton began cleaning all that up. When he picked up a large piece of the broken bottle, it slipped and cut one of his fingers then fell to the floor and shattered. This only frustrated Atton further and figuring he was by himself in the cargo hold, he kicked a nearby crate in the cargo hold.*
Let's just add that to the list too.

*Kali sighs as Atton leaves in a huff. He always did this. And he said she overreacted, psh. She stands up and walks over to T3, and pats him on the head.*
"Well I think you did a good job."
*The little droid chirps happily back and Kali gives him another pat before sitting back down. Honestly, Kashyyyk wasn't a bad choice at all. It was a neutral world that until recently had been controlled by Czerka. The wookiees were generally friendly toward Jedi, thanks to Jacob Degan and Jolee Bindo, and there were lots of places to lay low while this whole "arrest all the Jedi" thing blew over.*
*Kali stares out the window, not sure what to make of it all. The Chancellor had ordered the arrest of all the Jedi. The whole think stunk of Sith. Kali had no doubts that they were behind this. It was the perfect ploy, get the Republic to fight itself and then sweep up the pieces. With the Jedi out of the way, the Sith could do untold amounts of damage. What she wanted to do was get to Telos and warn those at the Academy, but she knew there was already a fleet there - and had likely already taken action. There wasn't much she could do - but she could at least try to get in touch with someone. Kali stands and switches seats to the main pilot's chair. She keys the comm system up and types in a command code to open a link to the Academy.*
"Kali Black to anyone at the Academy. Do you read me? Come in please."
*There is no response. In fact the transmission indicated that the comm wasn't even getting through.*
"Kark me."
*The Republic fleet had to be jamming transmissions into the system. It made sense. It's what she would do. Kali leans her elbows against the console and puts her face in her hands with a sigh.*
"Oh why do these things always have to happen to me?"
*That drink was sounding awfully tempting right now.*

*Atton had spent a great deal of time in the cargo hold of the Ebon Hawk. Starting out, it was just him cleaning, but it was really an excuse to go fume somewhere else. He wasn't happy over their situation and part of him had hoped his days of running away from everyone were long behind him. Yet here he was now.
Still, negative thoughts started to turn a little more positive. Or maybe the better way of putting it was less negative. Atton had begun to think on their situation and how they could tackle what was going on. They didn't have the rest of their group with them this time, though thankfully that meant that witch wasn't with them either. Oh how he was glad that she was long gone.
They couldn't move freely. The Hawk was too recognizable, as were their names. Kali's name more than Atton's was recognizable, but it was still a risk. Atton could always change his name again as well as the Hawk's codes, but he doubted he could do it from Kashyyyk. It was easy to do on Nar Shaadda. People went their to get lost, and that made it easy to do so on Nar Shaadda.
They had no way to communicate with the Council on Telos either. They would have to figure out an alternative means of communication with other Jedi. They needed to have some means of connection and communication to figure out just what was going down. Atton really didn't understand it all and it all happened so fast that he wasn't sure what the whole deal was other than the Republic was arresting Jedi.
And if they were arresting Jedi, they'd likely have those in the Academy on Telos rounded up and hauled off soon enough. Telos was a Republic world. It's restoration efforts were funded by the Republic and they managed to keep a fleet there. For Atton, there was no point in even trying to get in touch with the Council on Telos. Their best bet was to get ahold of other Jedi around the galaxy. Not all the Jedi could be on Telos, after all.
Their immediate issue would be getting off Kashyyyk without being tracked down. That was Atton's immediate concern, anyway. If they could figure that part out, then getting in touch with a Jedi wouldn't be so hard. He sighs to himself, deciding he's had enough time to think to himself. He looks to the stash of drinks they had in the cargo hold and decides to pour another glass of ale, though he doesn't take a sip of it.
Atton makes his way back into the cockpit to see Kali sitting in the main pilot's seat. He stands behind the seat and rests a hand on the back of the chair. With the other hand that held the glass of ale, he stretches it over into Kali's view to offer it to her.*
That drink I offered you earlier. Figured it's the least I can right now. That and look after the ship while you enjoy it.
*Truthfully, Atton enjoyed his time in the cockpit when he was with Kali and the rest of the crew. Not many came to bother him during the jumps between destinations. Usually it was only Kali, and he really didn't mind. Well, there were a few times when he did. She had prodded him with some tough questions about his past that for the longest time he didn't feel like sharing. Yet now that seemed like a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.*

*Kali attempts to get through to the Jedi Academy a few more times while Atton is cleaning up the back, but with no luck. She was either right and the Republic was jamming transmissions in and out of the system, or there was the frightening possibility that the Academy didn't exist at all. But she dismisses that thought, as Brex had attempted to arrest her and Atton - not kill them. Still, whatever was happening on Telos could hardly be good. When Atton returns with a glass of ale, Kali nods thankfully and takes it with a small smile.*
"Thank you, Atton."
*Kali takes a sip of the drink and leans back in the pilot's seat, spinning it to the side to face Atton fully.*
"This whole thing is crazy. I can't get through to Telos - I'm guessing transmissions are being blocked. Everyone in that Academy is going to be trapped, it's not like Dantooine where you have plains, caves, and towns to hide in. ... And there isn't a damned thing we can do."
*That last part was the most difficult for Kali. They could high-tail it to Telos, but the Ebon Hawk was as recognizable ship as they came. They'd be picked up in orbit by a Republic tractor beam or shot down. And even if they did manage to make it to the Academy - it was likely already crawling with Republic Soldiers trying to arrest Jedi. And what would she even do if she made it that far? Fight the Republic Soldiers? They weren't the enemy. The galaxy wasn't stark black and white anymore, there were hundreds of shades of grey. They'd have to just hope for the best and pray that some Jedi would escape like they did.*
"Atton? Do we have any subspace beacons aboard?"

*Atton listened to Kali as she spoke to him, understanding the situation Kali was explaining to him. He had been thinking similiar things about the Academy, the Jedi, the Republic, and so on. He simply adds in.*
Even if they did arrest every Jedi at the Academy, they probably didn't get every Jedi beside us. There could be Jedi on other worlds for various reasons.
*Atton listens to Kali's question then answers.*
Yeah, sure. I remember coming across some while fixing the Hawk.

*Kali nods in agreement with Atton.*
"Right. I know there were several pairings that had been sent out on missions, and even more like you and I that are dispersed throughout the fleets. There will be stragglers. What we have to do is make it possible for them to meet up with us."
*Good, there was a subspace beacon aboard. That made things easier. At least now she had a plan.*
"Alright, so we'll need to drop a subspace beacon and set the transmitter to broadcast a low-band Jedi frequency. Then we need to rig up a proximity sensor with a secondary transmitter linked to the Hawk. If any ship comes within range of the beacon, it will transmit the readings to us and we should be able to contact them from Kashyyyk via the subspace beacon without giving away our position. If its Jedi, then we can lead them to us. If not... well, no harm no foul. Right?"
*Kali turns to T3 who is twiddling to himself in the corner while plugged into the ship's nav systems.*
"Teethree, we'll need to drop out of hyperspace long enough to launch a beacon. Think you could bring us out in a relatively empty area of space?"
Dweep boop!
*The little astromech droid gives a positive chirp and Kali nods to Atton.*

*Atton nods along as Kali explains her plan. It was always hard for him to remember that she was once a General and played a key role in the Mandalorian wars, but the thought was certainly refreshed now. She had come up with a plan just like that. Even some of the Republic's best strategists sometimes took days to come up with a sound plan.
Atton grinned and unfolded his arms. He stood upright, realizing he was leaning against a nearby panel in a more relaxed state while he listened to her. This was a plan that Atton was certainly on board with. They had a chance to warn other Jedi and unite with them. The more Jedi that were working with them, the better shot they had at doing...something. Atton didn't know what, really.
This was the Republic. He had served with them during the Mandalorian wars and he had began serving them again as a Jedi. They weren't enemies, not really. Something big was at play to suddenly turn the Republic against the Jedi, and Atton couldn't see the Republic as the enemy despite what had happened.*
Yeah, sure. I'm on board. Best plan I've heard of all day. Well, probably the only one, but still a good one.
*Atton didn't know the next phase of this plan. He didn't know what they'd do with a group of Jedi, but they could certainly do something. If Kali didn't have that part figured out yet, he was confident she would soon enough.*
I'll go secure our key element to this plan and make sure it's in good shape.
*Atton was sure he saw atleast one. The problem was that he never checked it out. He was too busy with the repairs on the Hawk to do really fix or tinker with anything else. If the subspace beacon was in any decent shape, Atton was sure he could get it working good. His repair skill was pretty high considering the time he put in using it to repair the Hawk. It was like he leveled up or something. Atton mentally shook his head. Leveling up? That was crazy talk. He refocused on the task at hand and left the cockpit area to find the subspace beacon.
Atton looked in the cargo hold first, but one wasn't there. He was certain that'd be the first place one would be. He walked out of the cargo hold and decided to move along where they kept the speeder. He walked over towards the speeder, catching a glimpse of something leaning in a corner on the other side of it. He walked around the speeder and found what he was looking for.
He had to wonder why he was even here to remember seeing the beacon. Atton just shrugged it off. He had been all over the ship during the lengthy amount of time he was given to repair it. He grabbed the beacon and set it on it's side to open a panel. Atton began checking the wiring and doing basic diagnostics on the equipment while Kali and T3 took care of just where they would drop out to set this thing.*

*It had taken a little bit of time, but Kali and Atton had all the time in the galaxy. Between the two of them and with some help from friendly T3, they manage to repair and reprogram the subspace beacon. She and T3 had decided to make a quick stop in the Velm system. It was off of the main hyperspace routes and relatively unimportant. No one would accidentally run into it, but any Jedi looking for active locator signals would pick up on it from both the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route - which made it a perfect spot for a piggy-back signal.*
*Atton, T3, and Kali program the beacon to emit a standard Jedi emergency signal. T3 scrambles the emergency signal patterns, which will make the beacon itself extremely difficult to locate. They then rig it to broadcast an alert directly to the Ebon Hawk when any vessel entered the system and T3 instals an encrypted long range transmitter. Effectively, once deployed in the Velm system, the beacon will alert the Ebon Hawk of any ship in the system, and then provide a means by which to safely communicate with that vessel without the risk of the message being tracked. And the only ones to enter the system should be those looking on the emergency Jedi bands. Which, Kali admits, the Republic might have acquired, but that's what all the other security was for. It was one of her better plans. Hopefully they'd be able to get in contact with some other Jedi and rendezvous with them on Kashyyyk.*
Dweop boop. Beep beep.
*Kali glance at T3 and nods then turns to Atton to let him know as well.*
"We're coming up on the Velm system. Better get this thing to the Airlock."
*Kali and Atton heft the bulky beacon out of the cargo bay and around the bend to the airlock. They set it down on the hatch, Kali turns the equipment on, and then they both retreat back to the cockpit. From there Kali seals all the doors adjoining the exit hatch section from the rest of the ship and depressurizes the atmosphere in that section. A moment later the Ebon Hawk drops out of hyperspace into a black empty space between stars. Far off in the distance was a glowing yellow orb - the Velm sun. The one habitual planet, Velmor, in this system had been cleared for colonization, but no one had taken up that hurtle yet.*
"Alright, launching the beacon."
*Kali triggers the release button, and the hatch opens. The beacon slowly drifts out of the Ebon Hawk and Kali checks all the instruments to make sure it is broadcasting correctly.*
"Alright, everything checks out. Let's get out of here before someone comes knocking."
*Kali moves from the pilot's seat back over to the co-pilot's seat, relinquishing the privilege of piloting back to Atton. She knew he always felt more at ease with his own fingers on the controls - even if Kali was a competent flyer.*
"Beep!"
"Yep, we're all set here. Time to say 'hi' to the Wookiees."
