*Salkar continues shooting at the Republic starfighters while he watches the battle screen on the Ky'ram's console. It shows the locations of the republic vessels as well as the Mando vessels, including the Fury. He continues watching the screen until he notices a major change in course for the Parjai. At first he wonders if Vhon is going to head to the beta-site. Then he notices the Fury increase in speed and begin maneuvering. Salkar reroutes the power to the engines and shields and turns sharply towards the Fury. When he finally sees it he can see that Vhon has turned the Parjai's turbolasers on the Fury*
"KARKING TRAITOR"
*Salkar continues cursing the name of Kom'rk Vhon in as many ways as he can possibly think of while he follows close behind the Fury and begins maneuvering around laser fire and republic fighters. He opens up his comm to the Fury*
::Alor! What the kark is going on?!::

*Bralor continues to fire the railgun. As the gun recharges bralor aims at a crack in the hull of the Venerable.*
::Right above the reactor.::
*Bralor lets loose the shot, the laserblast hitting dead on its target. (OOC: Attack and damage confirmed with player prior to posting) The Venerable's reactors detonate, splitting the ship in two in a shower of sparks.*
::OYA!.::
*Bralor hears a rumble and explosion from within the Tracyn behind him. Bralor knew his own ship and the Tracyn was close to finished. He quickly dismounts the gun but in the zero gravity of the shattered gunwell, he can only push himself away. Just as he dismounts the Tracyn detonates, a large section of hull smashing into him as the ship explodes.*

*Cassus nods in response to his son's directions and routes power from the secondary generators to the shielding systems. There was no hope of taking down the Parjai's shields and getting to the turbolasers with this ship, so weapons were out of the question. And speed would only do them so much good until they got hit. Better to take a few hits and live with a limp then get hit once and be done for*
"Power routed to shields."
*As he looks up from his screen he sees the Tracyn in the distance, it didn't look too good. And then... it explodes. Cassus mouth drops a little, there were a lot of good men on that ship. Roegr, Bralor, and Kelborn included. Cassus clenches his fist in anger at Vhon, but he doesn't have the time to do anything about it. Skirata's comm signal comes through and Cassus punches the button to respond*
::I don't know, get the hell out of here Skirata, that's an order.::
*Cassus considers the beta-site, but Vhon was the one that suggested Vjun in the first place - it was likely another trap. They need a place to lay low for a quick time.*
::Vjun's out of the question. Break up, go wherever. We'll rendezvous in the Mustafar system in three days. Fett out.::
*Cassus looks over at Arligan*
"Let's move."

*One G-Type Light Shuttle emerges from the Ecliptic's main hangar bay, aboard are Hokan and Caius Ordo - the only known survivors of Drexl Squad and the Mandalorian mission aboard the Republic ship. Hokan pushes the engines to full, heading for the Tracyn's last known position, but he soon makes an unnerving discovery*
"It's gone.... The whole damn ship, it's just gone!"
*Floating before them in the vastness of space, is nothing more than a small debris field where the Tracyn had been*
"Sensor's aren't picking up any friendlies out here. Looks like Vhon is either cloaked or decided to split... assuming he ever showed up at all."
*Hokan pauses as he looks over another screen*
"Ah crap, we've got Reppie fighters coming in hot. They must have found us out. Executing evasive maneuvers. We just can't get a break today, can we?"
*Hokan grabs ahold of the yoke and pulls tightly to starboard, veering around toward Dxun and Onderon. He starts a spin that will hopefully shake the Republic pursuit craft off, but the sluggish engines and maneuvering thrusters on this shuttle were making even the most simplest of maneuvers difficult*
"I'm not going to be able to hold them back for long. See what you can do with that turbo-laser, Caius."

*A squadron of fighters follow after the stolen shuttle, their speed giving them a huge advantage over the comparably slow shuttle. They weave around the shuttle, and circle around several times, sending streams of laserfire at it*
*Aboard the Ecliptic the chaos of a few minutes ago was beginning to give way to casualty reports and status updates*
"Captain, we've lost three mid-section decks. Looks like Mandalorians saboteurs planted some sort of charge. A squadron of our fighters are in pursuit of a shuttle we believe them to have stolen."
"How did they get aboard in the first place?"
"Inspection teams report a Mandalorian drop pod in the main hangar, Captain."
"They must have launched it while our shields were down after the EMP blast. Tricky bastards. What about their warships?"
"The smaller frigate has been destroyed, Captain. The smaller vessels jumped to hyperspace, and the battle cruiser as left orbit as well."
"Very well, stand down from red alert, and have the fleet set up position around Onderon. We're done here."
*The Ecliptic limps back into Onderon's orbit, and the rest of the Republic Fleet follows*

(Continued from here) *The Ecliptic under the command of Captain Valorum limps back into orbit around Onderon following the battle with the Mandalorians, along with the rest of her fleet. Two ship destroyed, and two more heavily damaged... not to mention the Liberty, original flagship of the fleet, it was destroyed even before the battle. They had met heavy losses with little gain. Valorum had the feeling that she wasn't going to be promoted any time soon*

*Caius pilots the rust and grey colored Gladius 4 class freighter into orbit. Caius had seen them used as scout ships before. They had quad laser cannons and they were fast. It could seat a couple passengers and be piloted by only one man. There was plenty of room in the airlock for the Jedi. This ship looked like it had been up-armored to defend against pirate attacks. Ah Onderon. It's good to be back. Plenty of good, as well as bad, memories here. I wonder how Queen Talia is doing. I had been on pretty good terms with her before I left.
*Lee looks at the planet before them and sees the nearby Republic fleet. He transmits the proper clearance codes, letting them know they are the Jedi team that the Council sent. Once they're in the clear, Lee looks over to Astefan.*
Ready to greet an old friend?

Dxun? There's been nothing there since the mandalorians were cleared out.
=Officer 1=
What do you think of it, then?

Who knows? But we should send word to the captain. She'll likely want this investigated.

*A'den receives the transmission and finally sees the formation of strange ships around the planet that the moon orbited. A'den knew very little of the Republic but he did know their ships, as they were what his clan tried to avoid the most. Something was wrong. His information may have been old, but he could tell the man was speaking truth. Was it possibly so old the Mandalorians had moved on, or been over taken by the Republic. A'den wasn't sure, and he didn't know if he could trust the republic.*

Araal
*An Aurek Strikefighter streaks out of the Ecliptic's main hangar and twists violently to starboard as it screams down toward Onderon's surface. Aboard is twi'lek Jedi Padawan Araal, who had just narrowly escaped an attempt by the Republic personnel aboard to arrest her. She wasn't sure what was going on, but after the untimely death of her master she had no one to fall on, no one to trust. And so she ran. Ran to the only place she thought it would be safe. The Queen's palace. She had harbored Jedi before during the purge, and she had met the Queen on several occasions. If she couldn't trust the Republic and Captain Valorum, then she didn't have anywhere else to go. Especially in a ship with no hyperdrive.*

Image: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords © Lucasarts The events of this post take place in the year 3918 BBY, or 20 years after the Jedi wretched control of the Republic from the Sith A Republic Foray class corvette drops out of hyperspace between the closely intertwined celestial bodies of Onderon and Dxun. The two glow bright green and blue, and from the command deck of the corvette it appears that the two atmospheres seem to collide together, creating a bridge between worlds. It was a rare sight that few visitors were ever able to see, as it only happened for a brief period of time each solar cycle. Nearly 400 years ago it was this atmospheric bridge that allowed the conflict known now as the Beast Wars to rage across Onderon after Dxun's savage native Drexl species invaded Onderon by crossing the bridge. The wars had lasted 300 years before the Jedi had intervened and managed to bring a stop to the chaos and bring peace to Onderon. And now the Jedi had returned. Standing on the small command deck of the Foray class corvette stood Jedi Knight Ji Organa. His traditional brown cloak wrapped around him as he stood contemplating the cosmic spectacle taking place before him. It appeared peaceful and serene and almost effortless as the two hazy atmospheres seemed to reach out and grasp eachother then expand and widen. From this distance it appeared as if the two worlds were barely moving and Ji hand to marvel at the elegance of the Force which prevented the two from colliding. "What are the surface conditions in Iziz, Captain?" Ji asks as he turns his head from the viewport to address the Republic officer on his left. "Winds are starting to pick up," The Captain replies. "Tower control is reporting fifteen minutes until the spaceport goes into complete lockdown. Once the bridge is stable, we'll be able to make atmospheric entry and dock." "And that will take, what? A half hour?" Ji asks. The Captain looks back at the young knight and shakes his head. "More like two standard hours, sir." Two full hours of heavy turbulence, making atmospheric flight near impossible over the majority of the Northeastern continent. That gave the Jedi's quarry more than enough time to make their move. Ji and his twin sister Aryn had been sent to Onderon by order of the Jedi Council to investigate reports of a slave trafficking ring operating out of Iziz. They had planned on arriving before the convergence started, but a distress call from a nearby system had put them off course and when they had arrived to assist they had found nothing but a decoy buoy. The whole situation felt wrong to Ji. The slavers had to have known they were coming, activated the decoy, and now they had two full hours to finish either hiding or preparing a trap for the Jedi. Either way, it meant that the slaves, the victims, were now in serious danger. "Captain, are the Strikefighters prepped for atmospheric flight?" The captain spins around in his seat to face Ji. "Surely you can't be serious. The winds will rip your strikefighter apart before you can make it to the surface." "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley. We're Jedi, Captain. We can handle a little wind. Now are the strikefighters ready or not?" "They are, sir. But I don't recommend it," the Captain pleads. "Noted, Captain." Ji pulls out his commlink, flips the switch and says, "Aryn. Grab your flightsuit and meet me in the hangar. We're gonna go for a little spin."

Post by Aryn Organa on May 8, 2014 18:18:44 GMT -5
It doesn’t take a sensitivity in the force for Aryn Organa to figure out exactly what her brother is planning.
Had she not been caught up in her meditation, she may have been on the bridge to make the decision with him.
Dark brown hair falls down into her features as Aryn sits alone in a quiet corner of the corvette, shielding her mostly-closed eyes from view. Mostly, because they remain open just a bit to keep in her surroundings, even as she pulls into the force and seeks guidance. The quiet reverie calms her, draws her consciousness in with the force and seemingly brings clarity to the events at hand. The distress beacon had been a decoy, throwing them off the trail and effectively sealing a method of escape for the slavers they’d come to find. They’d been tricked, and lives were now at stake because of it. Who even knew how long it would take for the ship to gain access to the surface, given the winds? The ages-old doctrine of the Jedi, the commitment to peace and sealing off the emotions that would lead to the ruin of the dark side, brushes through her in her connection.
Even so, Aryn Organa can’t help but feel more than just a little pissed off about the whole situation.
When her commlink beeps and her brother’s voice sounds, Aryn’s eyes open and a lopsided grin creases her features.
“On it.”
**
“Bleep-a-bloop-bleeeee?”
“I know it’s a terrible idea, Tee.”
“Bleeeeeee-oooooop?”
Aryn leans back, checking over the utility droid to make sure he’s securely tucked in to his harness on the X-wing. “Because it’s a lot better than sitting around doing nothing. Just sit tight. We’ll be on the ground in no time.”
A pitiful wail escapes T3-P4 at the words. Clearly, being on the ground in no time is the greatest of his worries at the moment. In either case, Aryn pats the droid’s side before jumping the few feet back down the ladder to the ground as she catches her brother’s approach. “I imagine we’re going down ourselves?” she asks, not really anticipating an answer to the contrary. “Because if we weren’t before, we are now.” That cheeky grin escapes her once more, as she pulls her hair back into a loose ponytail to tuck back into her helmet. The two craft had been prepared before either of them got to the dock, suggesting they had already anticipated the option. Probably not the two Jedi dropping down in a gale on their own, but the idea had been there.
How long had it even been since they’d used one of these things? Just like riding a bike, right? They’d been trained by the best, both in Uncle Alexander’s patient and studious schooling and the rough-and-tumble ‘Don’t crash or it’s gonna suck’ tutelage that was Kippen Dell’s style. In any case, Aryn tugs her helmet on, zipping up the front of her flight suit over her lightweight Jedi vest, and fastening all the connectors. For all the wit and banter, the seriousness of the situation does continue to loom overhead.
“We’re Jedi. That’s why they send us to do these things,” she speaks, her tone just a little heavier than the mirth in her eyes would suggest as she shares a glance with her brother.
