Ajjiaka thought about it. Did she want out? Well the jobs made plenty money and it was nice to be able to have money. Did she want out? She thought about the way Jefardi had held her, how the embrace they shared felt. His silver skin… his gibberish talk, his smile, then thought about all her years being a servant for crime lords, used for her looks, her lonely days, and lonelier nights, almost getting killed, the doubt the never knowing…. her father.
”If it means you’ll stay with me… I’ll do anything.”
She whispered in response.

Jefardi smiled at her response. It had made him happy.
His skin took on a normal hue, going to a slightly more silvery then normal look.
He gripped her hand in response.
With a smile, and words, that were soft enough, they could barely be heard he said,
"thank you"
Significantly louder, he went on, "I have a good idea of where to start, we need to set course for the Wheel"

She smiled, relief washed over her as she observed his skin tone change again. Ajjiaka released his hands and wrapped her arms around him.
”I was really scared you’d hate me”
She mumbled with her face pressed against him.

She clung to Jefardi, and he let her, gently holding her as well. As she held onto him, he thought.
I want to find out whether she genuinely wants to leave this business, and not just because he asked her to. However that was a thought to be tested another time.
He also needed to figure out how to get a hold of his eldest sister. Jefardi hadn't seen her for twelve years, yet he still remembered what she had told him, and forced him to memorized. It was a code phrase, to be said to her if he should ever need help, and couldn't find her or convince her to help him. To this day, he could never figured out why Ilena had made him memorized it, but now it would come in handy. His big sister, would know what to do.
She had told him once to ask around the Wheel, a large city like casino, she had told the seven year old-wide eyed Jefardi, after a little while she would find him.
At this point Ajay had been latched onto him for well over a a full minute. He then said quietly, "Ajay, I need to start the process of this, if you actually want to get out of the smuggling business."
"Excuse me"
The last two words were said briskly, as he shoo'ed Ajay out of her navigation and communication room.
He knew he was being fairly rude, but he needed time to both think and figure out what to do next.
Jefardi also felt sick from what he had learned. No matter how much Ajay said she wanted to change, he could get the images of glitterstim addicts that lined the lower levels of Coruscant out of his head. To think that Ajay caused it, was...well... it was nearly unthinkable. Except that it had actually happened.
Now alone in the navigation room. He started to look at the navigation maps, the hyperspace maps.
It took him nearly an hour to find the Wheel. Most the reason it had taken so long was that Jefardi was just picking stars at random from where Ilena had told him that the general location of the Wheel was. It got his mind off of what had just happened. It was maybe four or five days flight from here. Going over to the communications system, he hailed his ship, the Odyessia, and told it to arrive at the Wheel. However he didn't tell it to leave Nar Shaddaa quite yet, he didn't know when he would actually get there, but he did know that at the Wheel his ship was more likely to be ran over by accident.
After he had finished, it had been nearly two hours since he had more or less locked himself in the nav room. However he was still interested in the stars that he had randomly found during his manual search for the Wheel. Going back to the Nav maps, he just idly browsed through it.
~Several Hours later~
After what must of been the second or third thousandth star system, he realized it had been nearly eight hours since he had started to browse. Looking at the Chrono, it was nearly ten at night. He had been locked in the room for the vast majority of the day. It had helped him greatly to get his thoughts.
Stretching, he walked outside of the Nav room. The cockpit was locked, and upon further inspection so was one of the dormitories. There was also a lump of blankets, that could fit a decent sized humanoid, in a curious spot near where he had slept the night before. He didn't bother to investigate, he was too hungry to pay much mind to it.
Going to the cargo hold that he had been led to previously he made himself a quick but large dinner, trying to use as little food as possible, but enough to fill himself up.
After eating he left the cargo hold, stopping by the med-bay to pick up the rest of his stuff that had been brought in when he had fallen on the ship.
He started to hunt for a place to sleep before he realized that something stunk. Namely himself.
Changing the hunt, he went after a refresher, and got a quick shower in, as well as a wash for his clothes, as they really smelled bad at this point.
Going to the room that Ajay had told him had been where he was going to sleep. He took his staff and propped it up against the door. If the doors opened, it would fall making a noise that would wake up Jefardi. Making sure the door was locked he climbed into the bunk farthest from the door, and took off his jacket and shirt, tossing them on the ground.
Sleep claimed him mercifully fast.

Ajjiaka felt him push her away. As she watched him leave she literally felt a pain in her chest as her heart felt shattered into the tiniest pieces. She looked down and walked away. She went to the Refresher and cleaned herself then put on a flowery scented moisturizer. She walked to her room wrapped in a robe, and as she entered her room she clothed herself in a thin strapped black night gown accented with lace. They had woken up not too long ago, but she knew she was not going to leave her room for the remainder of the day, so why did she care?
If he had known that this was her career before her breakdown, would he still have told her she wasn’t pathetic? At least now he knew it was true. She sat in her bed, clutching a highly beat up stuffed dewback toy. It had clearly seen many years, and many better years. She buried her face in the toy, allowing the tears to flow.
She had never felt this way before. Normally she wouldn’t have cared what anyone thought, would have kicked him out rather than telling him anyway. But there was something about him she couldn’t let go of.
But now it was ruined. She walked back to the refresher and threw up her entire breakfast. Shuddering with a lack of strength due to the sudden loss of her stomach contents, she cleaned up the refresher, making sure it was clean and smelled fine.
On her way back to her room, she made a pit stop by the cargo hold grabbing a bottle of powerful liquor and several bottles of various weaker ones, cracking one of the weaker bottles open and taking a drink. No smile graced her gentle face... but it did make her happier.
Ajay walked back to her room locking the door behind her. She lay back on her bed engulfing herself in blankets. She downed a couple bottles, Tears streamed down her face. Where the bottle went? She didn't care. On the floor with a large thud. Her body was exhausted. Slowly she drifted off to sleep.
For the entire day she drifted in and out of sleep, in and out of crying, in and out of drinking. Her stomach remained barren and her body remained weak. After 9 hours of non use, the door unlocked, as was the setting. The whole day passed by very slowly as she lay in the bed, relatively unmoving, drinking away her sorrow and pain. Then she slept the whole night after having drank every one of the smaller bottles and half of the large bottle of the strong liquor.

Jefardi woke up.
For a moment he just stayed there, hovering in the space between awake and sleep.
Which to choose, which to choose, he asked himself.
Finally he forced himself awake.
Checking his Chrono, which said it was fairly early morning, his stomach rumbled loudly.
Climbing out of bed, he saw that his room hadn't been disturbed at all over the night.
Not even bothering to put on his shirt, due to his need for food.
He grabbed his staff as he made way to the cargo hold that held food.
Upon his arrival, he started to look through frozen food.
Mmm, burgers.
Grabbing five bantha burgers he heated them up and then put them on a large plate.
He had been a bit rude to Ajay the day before, but he had really needed time to think. Regardless, she brought him breakfast yesterday, now it was his turn to return the favor.
After grabbing a few glasses of Ardees, he made his way to her room.
About to knock on her door, it opened automatically.
Weird, he thought, I would of thought she locked it at night.
Regardless he moved on.
The first thing that he noticed however was the smell.
Alcohol.
His nose may of protested but he went on, and found a bunk with a ton of blankets all mashed together in a clump
That would be Ajay.
Setting down the food on a nearby bunk and the drinks on a sturdy surface, he then squatted down so he was more or less eye level with Ajay, but still about a meter away, as she hugged the wall.
"Good morning sleepy head" he said, with a note of concern in his voice.

”No! Screw you.”
She screamed at Dhar, shoving him away. She ran, faster and faster shoving every drug dealer she ever met off of her along the way. She ran and ran, not sure what she was looking for. She tripped and screamed looking up. Then she saw him, Jefardi.
“Jefardi… help!”
She reached her arm out, but Jefardi turned and walked away
“Excuse me”
Was all he said. She fought hard to get up off the ground when she heard his voice again, but she couldn’t tell what he was saying.”
Ajjiaka’s eyes fluttered open. She blinked a couple times and saw Jefardi crouching in front of her. She stared at him and slowly a frown creased her forehead. She shoved the dewback toy further under the blanket, hoping it wouldn’t be discovered.
She sat up and stretched, still not saying anything to Jefardi. She didn’t really know what to say. He left her behind and… well she shouldn’t be mad at him about her dream… but she was. Besides he left her yesterday too. Loudly a bottle rolled of and clanked on the floor in front of Jefardi, the sound made her head hurt a little. She looked at him and then at the bottle and shrugged.

She had gotten really really drunk yesterday. That much was fairly apparent. He could still smell the ooze which was everywhere. Then a bottle of corellian fire whiskey rolled by him, and Ajay acknowledged it with a shrug.
"I..uh...brought you some bantha burgers and a few glasses of Ardees if you want any..." he said quietly, indicating the platter of bantha burgers, which he picked up and moved inbetween the two. Then he went and got the few glasses of Ardees and set them by where the burgers were.

”Oh… thanks.”
She scratched her head and looked around.
”Sorry about the mess.”
Her eyes moved to Jefardi as she apologized. She couldn’t help but briefly glance at his body, noting his muscles… his own fault for coming in without a shirt on. She looked at the burger and smiled very faintly.
”Did you want to sit down? I promise I won’t attack you or anything. You just… don’t look very comfortable. ”
She gestured to the foot of her bed as she pulled her legs up, crossing them beneath her with a blanket still covering her legs. She didn’t want to be rude.

Smiling slightly he sat at the edge of the bed,
"I didn't think I was going to attack or anything, I just thought it would a bit awkward for me to wake you up and be on your bed...."
"Regardless want some food?" he said offering her a bantha burger.

”As long as you’re ok, I don’t care.”
She said in response to him mentioning it being awkward. She smiled at took the burger.
”Thanks”
Ajjiaka took a bite, watching him.
”So are we going to the Wheel then?”

Nodding, Jefardi responded, "ya the Wheel, that's where I'm suppose to meet my big sister Ilena, if I ever ran into any trouble."
Smiling slightly he added, "I now know why she made me remember this."

”Trouble like me.”
She grumbled quietly as she continued to eat the burger. It felt better with food in her stomach. Obviously she hadn’t forgotten anything that had happened the day before. She wondered if he’d stick around still. What if he helped her then left? No doubt she’d spiral back into something bad.
Can’t do anything decent on my own.
She thought to herself with so much venom to the statement. Oh well… just take life as it comes. Only got a certain number of years to live, best not be wasting them worrying. She sighed, taking a drink.

Jefardi's face took a puzzled look.
"How do you mean?" he asked, " What do you mean trouble like me?"
Jefardi didn't have a clue as to that which she had said.

Ajjiaka sighed.
”Well I mean… I’m… a horrible person… Pathetic anyway, that’s for sure. Not sure why you’d want to be around me.”
She said in a matter-of-fact tone. She looked at him.
”I’m glad you’ve chosen to be here with me so far, but I wouldn’t blame you if you left when we got to the Wheel.”
She finished as much as she could and set the rest off to the side. It seemed like all of her happiness had been drained.

"You are not a horrible person", he said, looking into her eyes. She wouldn't look him in the eyes.
Jefardi scooted up closer to her and he spoke gently, his skin taking on a slight silvery sheen to it as he spoke, "hey, I'm not going to abandon you, okay?"
Then he did the only thing he could think of, he gave her a big hug, and said softly,
"Look if you hadn't wanted to change at ALL, then I might of okay? But you did want to change." he finished with a smile on his face.

”Well…. I can accept that, and I hope you don’t change your mind.”
Ajjiaka sighed a bit, then, with a slight protest from her mind, she wrapped her arms around him. It was a slightly odd notion to feel his skin on her arms as she wrapped them around his body. She smiled though, and pressed her face against his neck, slightly curious how he would react. Testing the boundaries more or less. Testing him in general. She wanted to know all she could about him, how he would react in certain situations. Obviously he was a good soul, that much could be seen from his reaction to her, his comforting of her. But… she was also slightly mischievous.

Ajay answered Jefardi with a simple hope, that she would hope that he never changed his mind. She then accepted his hug, and returned it, wrapping her around his back. Ajay then smiled and nudged her head, until it was resting in the crook of Jefardi's neck.
It was comfortable like this, it made him forget his worries.
Even his hunger, which was still present after only eating most of a single bantha burger.
They stayed like this for a minute.
Jefardi started to hum softly, as they held each other.
Another minute passed.

Ajjiaka smiled and gently pulled away.
”I need to go change the course of the ship.”
She inched away from him and got up, stretching her long thin but muscular legs, which the night gown only accentuated with its delicate lace. She looked back at him and smiled.
”Go ahead and finish your meal, I’ll go reroute and fix the coordinates.”
She flipped her hair a bit with a gentle brush back with her hand, smiling, she walked to the cock pit plugging things into the computer’s navigation and rerouting the hyperdrive. She frowned thoughtfully, wondering what she should wear. It wasn’t that she needed to wear anything in particular, but the gown probably wasn’t the most appropriate thing to wear.

As Ajay left him, to go get the ship headed on course, Jefardi was left on the bed, with a ton of food and drinks.
Sad as he was for the moment to be over, when hunger came back, he forgot all about it in a flash, and reached for the forgotten platter of bantha burgers, and ate two more, leaving three of the five for Ajay. He was fairly certain she hadn't eaten the day before, and probably was starving half to death.
Munching on the remains of the last burger, he drank on of the glasses of Ardees he had brought with him as he waited from Ajay to return.

Ajjiaka came walking back in and grinned, a glint in her eye.
”You look so manly sitting on those pink blankets.”
She walked over to a storage locker that was fastened to the back wall of the dormitory that had been converted to one room for herself. All the bunks were still there, but they remained unused as her large bed in the middle of the room was her preferred sleeping spot. She opened the storage locker, looking through the clothes within.
”Hey, Jefardi…What should I wear?”
Came the inquiry most men hated.

Jefardi, was embarrassed, and slightly annoyed at the teasing Ajay had done, about manliness.
Then she asked suggestions for what she should wear.
For the first time, in a long time, he blushed. Not just his skin colour changed, but he actually blushed, his face becoming slightly red. His skin went slightly more silver, making it look like he was a rather pale human. But he had no quick answer for this, only able to get out,
"..uh...wait what?"

Ajjiaka looked over at him and raised an eyebrow.
”Well I hadn’t planned on wearing this all day…”
Noting the look on his face and skin tone change she grinned.
”…. That is… unless you want me to….”
She chuckled.
”No but seriously… I don’t know what to wear.”
She turned her attention back to the storage locker awaiting a reply as she shuffled through the clothes.
”I suppose just something comfortable…”
She said, mostly to herself.

The tease went right by him, and he honestly thought she was suggesting that, causing his face to become redder.
Realizing things needed to be said else, he might be rude, he said about ten or so seconds later,
"...well....what do you have that is comfortable?"

Ajjiaka sighed.
”Well… I’ve got some pants I use for hunting, they are good for movement. I’ll wear those. And then… just a white top I think.”
She pulled out the tan pants and white top and shut the locker. She walked back over to the bed and placed them on the edge, looking at him. She sat on the bed close to him, touching his cheek gently, she whispered softly,
”Your cheeks are a bit red.”
