*After we get to the third tent, the thugs begin to fire. One grazes just over my head. With my lightsaber, I begin to bat them aside.*
~If we rush forward like this, it could be more dangerous. The thugs may think this is strange we're moving forward like this, but rushing in to battle can be a path that leads to the dark-side. I still want to if I can, persuade or get them to leave.~
*About this time, the thugs from the bar begin to rush out, though they aren't firing their weapons. Getting an idea, I use Stasis on the first drunk thug. I use Stun on the second drunk thug. My hope is that this will goad those five into leaving.*
*The rapid fire assault doesn't change as I'm doing the force abilities. One strikes me in the leg. (Health 8/10). I then bat a few of them back towards the thugs.*

*As they advance the flurry of blaster fire begins. Jean put's his shii-cho to application and bats away several bolts. He keeps moving to cover while doing so and takes a shot to the arm and shoulder. (Health 8/10) Once he is behind some solid cover he sees two thugs standing beside each other still firing on their location. Jean concentrates as much as he can through the pain and uses Force Pull to pull their weapons out of their hands. Using the trick he picked up from Lara came in handy and hopefully would spook out the more inebriated thugs.*

*Lara quickly rolls backwards and away from the grenade to avoid it. When the rest of the group goes after the thugs, Lara decides to let the boys handle the confrontation. In the mean time she would be doing her best to keep innocents out of the crossfire. She could already hear blasters and lightsabers alike. If she was needed, she would go in and help, but at the moment she felt she was needed more here with the civilians.*
*So she quickly guided many people away from the tent while keeping curious civilians away.*

*Ze is caught in the middle of the firefight as he follows behind Christopher and Jean Strife of Dantooine. He sees both Christopher and Jean Strife of Dantooine deflect blaster bolts and attempts to do the same. The concept seemed relatively simplistic and easy to Ze, Verpine hatchlings participated in a similar exercise three weeks following their birth - it was to train their visual acuity and strengthen their depth perception. Ze sees a bolt coming straight toward him, and raises the purple training saber to block it. The difference between the hatchling game and this, however, was that in the hatchling game the harmless beams of light simply reflected off the hatchling's prism and covered the room with colors, whereas here, the dangerous blaster bolt ricocheted off the lightsaber blade. As the bolt collides with blade, it bounces off and angles itself toward the ground, planting itself firmly in Ze's foot*
"Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!"
*Ze begins hopping up and down furiously , holding his foot in one hand, and the lightsaber in the other. His chitin exoskeleton protected him from considerable damage, including glancing blaster bolts, but when something hit hard - it hurt hard*
*Ze looks around and spots the group of thugs firing on them. On Dantooine, he had taught himself how to push people over with the Force. Perhaps he could apply it here, despite the environmental conditions being slightly altered. He focuses on the nearest thug and exerts a Force Push at him. Then does the same for the thug standing beside the first.*

*The lead bar thug is stasised in midstride and was falling over until the stunned thug tripped over him and knocked him the other direction. Directly into the path of another two thugs. All the bar thugs, minus the stasised one, flea from Christopher after dropping their weapons*
-Hurl- "What in the hellpit? Where are they going?"
*Then, The verpine dances around after shooting, himself? int the foot. Hurl's thugs chuckle and continue firing. However, one of Hurl's men starts stammering*
"They're not leaving! Why aren't they leaving!"
*Then the verpine turns and knocks hurl's firing partner back into shaken thug and then Hurl himself is thrown backwards into a pile of refuse. The last two of his men left firing are then disarmed. Seven rifles are now flying at Jean Strife, and all of Hurl's thugs flee. Hurl gets up, levels his rifle and fires at the whole Group with a *Rapid Shot* while charging them*

*Watching as the rest of the drunk thugs turn around and run away, I am glad. Seeing the rest of the thugs minus the leader run away*
~I hope the leader shortly follows.~
*After seeing that that isn't the case, I bat one of the bolts to the side, and duck to avoid the others. Figuring the Stasis and Stun Force abilities might not work at their current levels, I use Force Push, as I duck close to the tent on my right.*

*Hurl has the most surprised look on his face as suddenly he's flying backwards through the air. He lands into the tent and his left thigh is impaled by one of the tent poles. He sees the rifle laying to his right and reaches for it, manages to catch it and turns it on the group again firing another round of rapid shots*

*As another round of blaster bolts head their way, Ze tries his hand again at deflecting the shots. It was one thing to see the bolts, but the Jedi were all about feeling things. He concentrates on one individual bolt as it comes closer to him, and moves his purple training saber to block it's path. The blaster bolt is deflected away from him into the sky*
"Oh I do hope that that charged bolt of plasma does not sear through some unsuspecting avian creature's wing causing it to spiral out of control and subsequently impact with the ground at an unfavorable velocity."
*Ze spots the last of the thugs, laying in a pool of what used to be a tent mixed with much of his own blood. With Ze's keen visual acuity he determines that the lead thug is severely injured. Ze glances down at the purple training saber, and then throws it toward the thug. It spins through the air at the thug, and Ze uses the same focus he used earlier (to push over the thugs) to pull the saber back to him. Ze hopes to call the saber back just before it collides with the thug, and only damaging his raised blaster - thus disarming him*

*At the same time that the rifle jams from overheating, Ar'kikze S'ss'nixztoo's training saber knocks the blaster from his grip. Badly for the thug, it also collides with the tent pole on its return trip eliciting a loud scream. Hurl nurses at his leg while he feels woozy*

*When all the firing stops, Jean comes out from cover training saber still humming. He looks over to the scene of the lead thug with a pole sticking through his leg. Jean calls back to Chris and Ze.*
Hey guys, I think this is over. I think he's about to pass out.

*I'm pleased when Ze successfully deflects a blaster-bolt to the sky, and watch as Ze disarms the lead thug. Nodding to Jean, I say,*
"It does. Let's head over there."
*I run over to the lead thug who was laying in the tent, nursing his leg. Seeing the blaster blinking, I pick it up and toss it to the center of the square. Within moments, the gun explodes due to an overloaded power-supply. I shield myself and the thug from the shrapnel. Crouching beside him, I see that he's impaled on the tent pole. Using the Force, I levitate him up the pole, and then lay him on the ground beside the tent. I extend my hand over his leg, and use Force Heal.*
"I may not be the best healer, but I know a few things. I'm sorry that it came to this in our effort to protect the villagers."

*Ze easily catches the flying training saber as it returns to his outstretched hand. He is clearly pleased with his maneuver - as he clicks his mandibles together rapidly in the Verpine equivalent of a smile. He shuts off the purple blade and turns in a circle, surveying the scene. He sees no other immediate threats and walks over to where Christopher and the lead thug are. Christopher starts to levitate the thug off of the pole*
"Are you sure we should..."
*But the dead is already done. Usually you would want to keep the implement in the person's leg to control the blood loss. But then again, Ze wasn't the most knowledgeable in non-exo-skeleton doctoral processes. And with the Force, Ze suspects anything was possible. Ze looks around, he had not seen Geril throughout the fight, and Lara Rhys seemed to have gone the other way to aide the villagers mid-battle*

*Realizing all the fun bits were over for the moment, Jean's arm goes numb after being shot at least twice in the same arm and around the same spot. He tries to shake off the numbness. Afterwards he looks over to Chris.*
What should we do with him? We don't want him or Czerka to cause anymore trouble for these people.
*Jean looks back in the direction of the village and begins thinking about the people that got hurt and the look in the one kid's eyes when his father was beaten in front of him. It reminded him of Dak and the situation from Dantooine. *
They've already gone through too much and knowing Czerka they'll just send more mercenaries who are a lot more straight forward with their work, so to speak.

"I believe the proper course of action would be to turn him over to the planetary authorities - in this case the Telosian Security Force - and all fill out written and oral statements depicting their activities and transgressions here. This should serve as a proper deterrent for further harassment of this particular village and encourage more comprehensive policing of the surface-based towns, such as this one."

*After the wound is healed as best I can tell, I look up and respond to both replies from Ze and Jean.*
"I agree. Also, he can get proper medical attention once in the hands of the Telosian Security force."
*Standing up, I look at the thug on the ground who has been unresponsive even after I healed him.*
"I hope he's alright. I use violence when I must, but I prefer not to. I was hoping that his life would be saved by my Force Heal."
*Turning around,*
"So the cave over there is the main entrance into the crystal caves that we're here for, if I'm not mistaken. Let's talk with some of the villagers and find out some more information about them."

*The thug doesn't register what Christopher says as he's deliriously in pain. After Chris mends his leg somewhat he lays back exhausted and waits as they discuss what his fate will be. He never was one to submit to fate though....* -Force Heal- (HP 7/10) *When they begin to walk away, he rolls in the opposite direction, forces himself on his feet and as fast as he can manage bolts towards the edge of the town behind his men*

"Bugger. I should have restrained him, but I wasn't wanting to let him die, even though he fired upon us. Let's look into the Crystal cave. That's what we're here for."
*I look around for any villagers that might be willing to chat with us. I see one sitting in a chair two tents over on the right side.*

Crystal caves? Crystal caves? Hmmm....Not really. I mean, before the war, there was a cave network nearby, but it wasn't really someplace we really explored. Mostly just the local lovebirds if you catch my drift."
*He winks at Christopher while still smiling*
"But...rumors were that somebody found them a few weeks ago, and that's why those boys were roughing everyone up. I think Berret might know. Berret!"
*The young son of the family excuses himself from Lara and runs over*
-Berret- "Yes?"
-Strange Old man- "These folks what to know about any caves nearby. Would you happen to know anything about such a thing?"
*Berret smiles to everyone. Obviously pleased that he can tell someone else*
-Berret- "Yeah. I was out playing with Junren when the ground gave way. I ran and got a rope and went down after her. That's when we found the cave. We found a few entrances. One of which is under our house. We gathered some of the nicer crystals and headed home. Mom and Dad thought we should sell them and sent me to the station. I can show you if you want."
-Old Man- "Well of course. Take them right away. And don't forget to thank them for all their help."

*Ze listens to the old man and Christopher discuss the caves, though he is confused as to why the old man thinks things will only get worse after they chased off the bad guys, contacted the authorities, and filed official grievances against Czerka Corporation which will undoubtedly led to a barring of their activity on the surface. Ze looks to the young boy, Ze's giant black eyes staring at the child in what Ze hopes to be an affectionate way - though it was difficult to mimic mammalian facial expressions when one did not posses a flexible, fleshy epidermis*
"We would be most appreciative of any guidance you can give us, young squishy one of this village."
