This Restoration Zone was originally managed by the Ithorians however the Telos government handed the zone over to Czerka Corporation for completion. There are herds of imported animals from other worlds, including cannoks from Dxun, wandering around the restoration zone. The Zone itself is surrounded by large energy shield walls which separate the inhospitable lands of Telos IV from the restored areas and prevent the acidic and hazardous atmosphere from reeking havoc on the restored zones. *The Shuttle bearing Dustil lands on what appears to be a landing pad for an old Telosian Military Base. He exits the ship and walks off the landing pad, Finding to his surprise that Chodo had been waiting for him there.*
-Dustil- "Chodo! How did..."
=Chodo= <...I know what you were going to do today and when to expext you? Well, I thought for sure you would have felt it when you met me, or at least by now, that I am a Force Sensitive.>
::How could I not feel it? This may require answers nobody here can give me.::
::Hmm you are probably Right, Im afraid this is outside of my Force comprehension. I'd suggest seeking out the Jedi Masters.::
"You can read my thoughts too? Well, that is indeed troubling if I can't sense your conection to the force. Anyway, How about a tour?"
<Certainly! Follow me...>

<This, is an old Telosian Military base that had remained intact and partially active after the Sith Bombing of the surface. Many in my herd believe that this base is what Czerka was so interested in when they aquired this Zone. We have found little proof of this when we hired scouts to enter it. All they repoted was a large amount of badly broken droids, and that the entrance to the basement was pilled leg high with broken droids and the door was magnetically sealled. We have decided that it could be used as a bunker for possible bombardments in the future, if the Telosian goverment doesn't recycle it as a military base.>
*Chodo leads Dustil away from the base entrance and heads to a small settlement near the sea, just on the other side of the large Ridge*
<This is Thani, its age is meassured in months but it is far and away the oldest settlment on Telos. A few of my own Herd have decided to settle here, as well as a handful of Humans and Twi'leks. To help populate more settlements down the road, we are considering starting a shuttle program to bring refugee's from the recent wars here from Nar Shaddaa, but we lack the funds at the moment. Now if you follow me, I'll show you the Shield Generators that protect the restoration zones from each other.>
*They head up shore a little way until they are face to face with a small group of Ithorian and Rodian techs and the Shield Generator nearest to them.*
<Here is one of the many Shield Generator's that cover the planet. To connect these two Zones, we have to deactivate each and every tower between them and tear them down. We will sell the scrap to help fund the Restoration clean-up. I would also ask a favor of you. Could you use the force to tear down this tower? I understand if you decide not to.>
-Dustil- "I'll give it a shot. Stand back!"
*Dustil Reaches out with the Force and Grips the Tower. He can feel it's great wieght but knows it's within his power to lift. He tightens the Force Grip and tears the tower from the ground. The wieght of the tower begins to take a toll on Dustil, so he slams the tower into the ground with the remains of his energy, leaving the tower a twisted heap of scrap metal. He bends over sweating heavily and out of breath, but regains his composure and begins to speak*
"well.... I ..did... it. *Whew*, I need to rest."
<Very impressive! I think you should return to Citadel Station and rest up. Besides, we have a safer way to tear the towers down, and thats the only thing that remains to be done here. You'd be more useful back at our Compound.>
*Dustil, with the help of Chodo, returns to the Military Base landing Pad. Chodo stays to see the job finished and Dustil boards the shuttle and returns to Citadel Station*

*The Republic shuttle takes off from the polar academy out of sensor range of any craft that isn't within a hundred-odd miles of the Academy. Even if they were looking they wouldn't find the Academy on their sensors, the Jedi had been careful to mask the power signature and the Force signature within that of the planet itself. Not that anyone would even find it by eye with the featureless polar regions stretching on looking the same mile upon mile. The shuttle stays low in the atmosphere and makes its way until it reaches the restoration zones. With the success of the Ithorians, movement of people and vehicles is common and there is an empty stretch of restored land that goes towards the centre of the zones so as to give the impression that the shuttle came from some other part of the restoration zones. The shuttle discretely lands down in RZ-0031.*
(on-board) *I look out of the cockpit windows and marvel at the landscape.*
"The work of the Ithorians never ceases to amaze."
*I get up and tap the bulkhead where E9-LB sits, waking it from its standby state.*
"Come on, we've got work to do."
*I head down the entry ramp with the orange LB-series loading droid following.*

*As I walk out of the shuttle, an Ithorian approaches me. I bow to him as he does.*
=Me= ("text") "Greetings, I am Jedi Master Zhar. I would like to purchase some of the breakdown materials from the completed Restoration Zones."
*I hope I have come to a zone where they are at the stage of completion to be selling off the materials to recoup the cost. Luckily for me, I have.*
=Ithorian= (?text?) ?Indeed we do Master Jedi, what for??
*It is a good sign that they don't know of us being at the Academy, or even of its existence possibly.*
"I need to fit out a medical bay. Not too big though, only for about 6 people or so I'd guess."
?You'd do better to go to Citadel Station for supplies, but I can tell that you aren't here just for some medpacs. What do you need??
*I smile and start listing off from my head.*
"Wall plates, beds, storage and probably some computer consoles. I already have most of the medical supplies."
*The Ithorian nods, or at least moves his head vaguely positively in what I assume is the equivalent of a nod.*
?Follow me please.?
*The Ithorian gestures for me to follow him to a prefab warehouse and I gesture for E9-LB to follow me in turn. There are several people, some Ithorians, milling about close to it. The surrounding area is alive with botanical life and the call of animals occasionally. The air smells clean and pure. If only the Academy were down here rather than freezing in the polar regions. It is slightly more humid version of Dantooine. The Ithorian leads me through a hangar style door with E9 fitting easily. Inside the warehouse are carefully arranged stacks of parts. A small repulsorlift cargo platform is provided and we start collecting the materials we need. I find 15 suitably sized durasteel wall plates and E9 starts loading them onto the platform before taking them back to the shuttle, unloading them into the cargo bay and returning with the platform. With the bulkiest items out of the way I soon find 10 suitably sized containers; either footlockers or metal boxes. I pick them up using the Force to assist me a little and place them near the thoroughfare for E9 to collect. I then find 6 plasteel pallets on top of which we will be able to put padding to make into a bed. There is spare insulation used in the repair of the superconducting magnets that supported the energy fields that we can use. By now E9 has returned and begins loading the platform again. The computers aren't difficult to find. The control panels for the energy field projector towers serve perfectly. I place these on top of the heap of materials E9 has put on the platform before turning to the Ithorian light-heartedly.*
"So, how much will the Council be billed for?"
*I wait patiently whilst he taps in on a datapad.*
?7000 credits in all, would you be interested in a loyalty card??
*I give a blasé look to the Ithorian whilst fishing out 7 1000 credit chips.*
"No thanks, you put the card to good use though."
*I turn to see that E9 has gone to finish loading the shuttle and head off in the same direction. I give a jovial nod to the Ithorians and other workers I pass as I head back to the shuttle. I get back in the cockpit and wait a few minutes as E9 finishes loading. The droid shuts the cargo bay after him when he is done and I take off, taking the same route as before back to the Academy.*

*Since the shield generators' scrap had all been sold, many settlers have begun farms and started a decent small economy in the settlement. Unfortunately, Czerka still retained nearly all the rights to the land and has begun taxing the farmer's crops being shipped off-world. They explain it as a shipping charge to pay for the transports and continued effort of planet's restoration as there were still several hundred zones that needed to be started, let alone the almost 1400 still in mid-stage conversion with wildlife reintroduction taking place. The settlers also didn't have the luxury of standing up to the conditions as nearly all of them had already spent their life savings just to get here and start a new life. So, they exhaustedly put up with the extortion and worked on feeding their families*
*That was until seven days ago when a couple of kids fell into an underground cavern full of crystals. Their families had secretly begun harvesting the crystals and selling them on the orbiting station. Czerka Directors caught wind of this and ordered sub-ordinates to reclaim the cavern and stolen crystals from the township. They however subcontracted to the local Bumani Exchange to cut costs, and created the current problems*
*Armed, bored, vicious and underpaid thugs began beating up on and robbing the locals for entertainment under the excuse of executing the contract by searching for caches of stolen crystals. Meanwhile, Czerka employees have sealed the main cave entrance and posted two employees to guard it*
*Four of the Thugs are threatening a family on the edge of the town while Two more are ransacking the house looking for anything of value. Five more are at the local cantina that they've overrun*
-Family's Father- "We don't have anything of value that you can take. Just leave us alone. We're tryin...."
*The Lead Thug hits him with the butt of the blaster rifle and he lands in the dirt*
"We're under contract. Everyone's being searched. Your not anything special, but depending on how well off you are, you might not see us for a while."
*The Father's wife restrains her fourteen year old son from idiotically attacking the thug and hides her young six year old daughter behind her*

*As I approach this side of the planet, I begin to see green areas on the ground. I see a landing pad in the distance, and decide to set it down over there. Slowing the forward speed as I approach the landing pad, I let it begin to drop, and I hit the button for the landing-struts. Keeping lowering it, I touch ground, and turn off the engines. As the engines purr down to a murmur and then to nothing, I unbuckle myself, and walk towards the back. Opening the ramp, I say*
"Let's start our adventure."
*Smiling, I get off first, and breath in the fresh air, stepping off to the side.*

He begins to look around at the scenery an is reminded somewhat of Dantooine and the farm he stayed on while growing up. Before the memories cloud his head he shakes his head clear and waits for the others.*

*Ze had opted to sit in the co-pilot's seat during the short trip. He had also decided to become intimately familiar with the oporating systems of this type of vessel. He pulls up the instructional manual on the viewscreen in front of him. It was relatively short. A mere 679 pages. Ze flips through the pages at normal speed for a Verpine - 1 every half second. Five minutes into the trip he finishes the entire manual*
"A relatively simple and common design. Though I suspect the geosynchronous stabilizers would be vastly improved by the addition of a Roche G7-42J comprehensive flight component."
*Upon landing, Ze follows the others out of the ship, and looks around. He clicks his mandibles in a cheerful manner*
"It appears that the environmental conditions are optimal."

"Let's go."
*Walking in a group, slowly so that Jerci can easily catch up. To the group, I say*

Do you have any force crystals in your lightsaber?

*I listen to Jean, and nod.*
"I have a Viridian color crystal, with Adegan and Ruusann power crystals. Lightsabers are able to be upgraded, and oftentimes will be upgraded through the complete life of a given Jedi. Better parts, crystals, and so on can be found and give the lightsabers better functionability."
*I pause as we walk so that Jean can take it what I said, while also allowing the remaining students to ask questions too.*

*Jean begins looking up both crystals on is datapad. Theses crystals had one main thing in common which stood out to him. They help the user focus the Force. With this Jean was able to pull up a conclusion on Chris.*
So your lightsaber gives you a greater link to the Force. With these crystals your lightsaber is more of a focusing tool. Perfect for a Consular which I assume you are.
*Jean puts the datapad back in his pack. He puts his hands behind his head and smiles.*
Seems like we got the perfect person to teach us about the Force.

*Ze nods and follows the others, motioning for Geril to do the same. He happens to step in a pile of mud... the first mud he had experienced since leaving Roche. But this mud was nothing like Roche mud. For starters it wasn't coated with a toxic layer of biomater. Nor was it comprised of machine oils, dust, and burnt carbon molecules. Judging by the fumes it was mostly nitrogen rich soil and nothing more than water with small amounts of non-sapient excrete. How odd. Ze listens closely as Chris and Jean Strife of Dantooine discuss lightsaber composition. He commits the conversation to memory for future use. Lightsabers interested him greatly... as did the Force*
"Excuse me for the interruption Christopher Michael and Jean Strife of Dantooine, but you refereed to the term Consular. Judging by your conversation this some sort of specialty within the Jedi Order focusing on Force use, is that correct? Are there other specialties?"

|
Post by Christopher Michael on Jul 6, 2010 18:32:12 GMT -5
*I turn when Ze asks me a question. After listening to his question I nod and say with a smile.*
"There are other specialties. Consulars use mostly Force powers and abilities. Sentinels use a mixture of Force powers and weapons skills. Guardian use primarily weapons skills. Its possible to carry it further in the form of prestige classes. Consular would become Sage Masters, Sentinels would become Jedi Watchmen and Guardians become Weapons Masters. That takes a while to acquire the skills to become the latter three. Let me explain that Consulars are still proficient at lightsaber skills and Guardians are still proficient at Force abilities."
*I let all of what I just spoke sit with the students.*

*Ze takes the information in like a chitin covered datastick. Consular, Sentinel, Guardian. All sounded extremely interesting. And judging by the previous conversation with Jean Strife of Dantooine lightsaber colors differentiated these different specialties within the Jedi Order. This was the first logical bit of information regarding the Jedi Order that Ze had come across - fascinating!*
"This is all quite fascinating. I see myself studying both aspects of the Jedi Order with equal rigor - thus setting me on the path of the Sentinel that you spoke of. Tell me, what lightsaber blade color indicates such a specialty within our Order, so that I may seek it out on this mission which is about to begin and thereafter begin the construction of my own lightsaber at the soonest possible opportunity?"

Post by Christopher Michael on Jul 12, 2010 7:59:50 GMT -5
*I turn when Ze asks a question and walk a bit slower, backwards. After a moment, I answer his question,*
"That's a good question Ze. Consulars typically have a green color, though more of a green as opposed to Viridian which is the color that I have. Sentinels have a yellow lightsaber color while Guardians have a blue color. That's the norm, but its possible to have other lightsaber colors if you wish. Its totally your call since you are the one that builds your lightsaber."
*Giving a small smile, I turn around and take a look around. There is plenty of open land and I see farms with settlers. I see a settlement closer to the caves however.*
"There appears to be habitations in that direction. Let's head over there. Maybe they can provide information on the caves."
*I lead my group in the direction that brings us closer to the habitations.*

"Yellow. Hmm. Strange. I do not believe I have encountered a yellow blade as of yet. All those I saw on Dantooine were either green, white, or violet. With exception to the red of course, wielded by the anti-Jedi dark-Force-using evil-incarnate folk. I find all this quite fascinating and am eager to begin the experimentation and development of my own lightsaber."
*Ze follows along with Christopher as they approach the settlement set near a rocky outcropping. Ze's keen Verpine vision verifies the existence of the caves, and even at this distance Ze can make out two individuals standing near the cave entrance unmoving*
"Hmm. Odd. Why would settlers wish to station a checkpoint leading into a closed cave system? Perhaps there is a toll?"
*Realizing that the others in his party have less precise eyesight then himself, Ze points the caves and guards out*
"See, over there? Two bipedal sentients appear to be standing at attention just outside of the cave entrance."
*Ze begins scanning the settlement, searching for any sign or posting regarding a toll to get into the cave system. But what he finds is far more disturbing. Several well-armed individuals in yellow uniform exit one house and head to the next one over, break down the door and then force their way in. Ze's antennas perk up at the sight and his body goes rigid... or rather more rigid then usual*
"That is completely uncalled for! These settlers are being harassed! Armed individuals just committed several misdemeanor offenses including Breaking and Entering, Menacing, and Reckless Endangerment. I believe immediate action is required on our part, my friends."

*I walk with my group-mates and we're making our way closer to the village. Listening to Ze, I hear about the guards on the cave, and then further, when he mentions the assaulting of the armed individuals on the villagers, I turn to Ze, and nod.*
"Let's see what we can do to help the villagers."
*I lead the way into the village.*

The leader just laughs and becomes bored. He kicks the man in the stomach and turns to leave. The son breaks free and charges at the leader yelling. Two of his guards level their weapons at him, but the leader just grabs his rifle by the barrel and 'golfs' the kid's legs out from under him*

*Lara had been following silently beside Christopher while he spoke to Ze and the others. All this information Christopher was telling them was nothing new to her. Afterall, Lara had spent all her free time as a Jedi in the archives and libraries. After so many years, she had the basics down pat. Still, remembering the encounter with Soln, she couldn't forget that learning of things was one thing but putting into practice was a whole different story.*
*Lara rubbed her neck lightly, remembering the Force Choke Soln had put on her. It had been foolish of her to follow a more experienced Force User into his ship, especially when he was the enemy. She looked over to Christopher, remembering how he and Aramis had stepped in just at the right time. She couldn't help but stare for a few moments, thankful they had come when the did. Who knows what permanent damage Soln would have done with her.*
*Lara wasn't the best fighter around. She preferred diplomacy to action. It's what had set her on the Consular path. As a miraluka, she had a naturaly strong connection to the Force. So it made sense her focus would be on the Force itself. Lara looked at the saber at her side. It was a...gift, of sorts, to her. But she had wanted, for awhile now, to make her own. She wanted to know every intimate detail of the lightsaber and how it was constructed. She had already decided on a variation of the color green as her color for the blade.*
*When they finally arrived close to a settlement, she could hear Ze spotting out the thugs messing with the settlement ahead. As they moved in closer, Lara could see them in the Force. When they approached close enough, Lara cleared her throat loud enough to get their attention. Thugs harrassing people made Lara sick.*
