*Tomias sits up as the meal is placed down in front of him. Taking no less than his jedi mental training to prevent himself from drooling he takes up the sandwich and drives his teeth down into Garret's culinary creation. After a few bites Tomias looks up at Garret nodding his head.*
This is great Garrett. Simple yet satisfying.
*Tomias finishes off the sandwich as Garrett starts the conversation about the decision to go to Telos. Nodding at what was said between the two he speaks up.*
Clearly its no question that this is a risky move we are making but we were all given the choice to back out of this but we all decided to come along anyway. Our best bet now is to concentrate on how to pull it off. We will be walking into a hostile situation even with this ship.
*Tomias leans back in the chair he was sitting in.*
I do worry about the younglings and initiates though. I know the Masters are there but they can't be everywhere and the soldiers will probably have them occupied as well. The loss of knowledge does concern me as well.
*Tomias shakes his head repeating 'what a mess, ' over and over in his head.*
Well, since we are going I do hope we make it in enough time to make a difference.

*Lee had managed to get in a few hours of restful sleep. It was honestly the most restful sleep he had gotten in a long, long time. It had been awhile since his life had been so action packed. Arkania threw everything Lee could take and more. Unknowing to Lee, it was a true test for him. Before he disappeared, Lee had that youthful energy to do all this. To go from action filled point to action filled point.
Since he disappeared and then came back, his life hadn't been anything like that. He had done things, to be sure, but nothing on the scale of what Arkania threw at him. Lee would be glad for what restful sleep he did get. However, now it was no longer restful. He was still sleeping to be sure, but now he was tossing and turning in his sleep. As he was tossing and turning, it was becoming more and more apparent there was some kind of dream going on.
Eventually with the tossing and turning came light mutterings. If anyone had been in the room, they couldn't understand it. Lee certainly wasn't awake to understand it either. Lee wasn't aware of what was going on beyond what his own dreams were conjuring up. Unfortunantly, those dreams seemed to be more like nightmares as Lee began tossing and turning more violently.*
::Lee, wake up.::
*It was an echo inside his head, but it wasn't his voice. It was a familiar voice. It was a female voice. However, it wasn't a voice Lee could identify. All Lee knew is that the voice beckoned him to wake, and he awoke. Lee slowly sat up in the bed, the sheets that were once draped over his shoulders now puddled into his lap. He let out a yawn, stretched with one arm, while the other began rubbing his eyes. Lee slowly began peering around the room.
He heard the voice as clear as day. Yet he couldn't discern if someone was in the room or not. As he looked around, it was just him. A wave of disappointment hit him as he let out a disappointed sigh and let his arms flop beside him.*
Now you're hearing things.
*Lee slowly rose out of the bed. When he was standing up straight again, he stretched his entire body, now standing on his tippy toes and his arms raised up in the air. He would have waved 'em like he just don't care, but he was still waking up. Lee let out a mighty yawn, then began slowly walking toward the closet. He still had another set of clothes provided for by Adascorp. As Lee looked at the second set closely, it had the Adascorp logo on it.
Arloh was a smart man that knew how to play his cards. With this attire, Lee would be instantly recognized as a representative or employee of Adascorp. Lee grabbed the attire and headed out the room. Usually he would bother to put on a shirt over his torso. Though the wounds had faded over time, they still looked pretty bad. It was a conversation starter he tried to avoid. That time of his life, the time he disappeared and received these scars, were still a blur to him. He only remembered certain bits and the gaps in his memory never did heal. No memories or anything ever did come back to him.
He knew what he did. He knew who influenced him. Yet so much was still lost on him, and by now he had given up on reclaiming those memories. This wasn't a Revan story. It wasn't something he needed to remember. Part of him did want to know. He really wished he could atleast remember why he left. However, there was another part of him that would rather leave it buried and forgotten. That's the part he was going with right now.
However, he was too tired and didn't feel like putting on a shirt simply to walk a few feet down the hallway to wash up and change. He was also on a ship full of males with no females in sight. That along with the fact no one was down the hallway left Lee completely unbothered as he made his way into the refresher and washed up. A few minutes later, he emerged in new attire and walked back to his room to put his lounge pants away.
As he put them away, he hesitated for a moment. He made his way over to the equipment locker and took out the belt with his lightsabers still attached. He doubted he'd need them, but he didn't want to be caught in a situation without them if something were to happen. He equipped his belt and closed the locker, making his way out of the room again. From his room he made his way back to the lounge. He glanced to see Master Vrook was still there. Lee was sure he had been absent from the rest of the crew for quite a few hours. Two hours to debug the room, then a few hours of sleep. The old man must have taken a nap.
Lee grinned a bit at the thought. He made his way to a seat next to Master Vrook and cleared his throat before speaking.*
Master Vrook.
*Lee nodded his head in greeting, then realized he never really had a one on one conversation with the old veteran master. He also never received much training under him beyond what was required for students. This was probably the very first time the two would have a one on one conversation. This could get awkward.*
Did you ever receive any training from Master Vandar?
*It was the best conversation starter Lee could come up with. That and Lee felt the want to learn more about the kind of being his master was before Lee's time. Master Vandar was a very old master, but his species could obviously handle the age well since he was a revered and powerful Jedi Master. Master Vandar must have had a very rich history and would have been a wealth of knowledge.*

Back in the galley, Taloombray was hunting through the luxurious Arkanian ship’s stores for more food to compliment Garrett’s sandwich. The Wookiee soon happened upon a collection of unknown items which he guessed were a type of fruit in a refrigerated cabinet. He pulled three out—they were small enough to all fit in one of his large hands—and smelled one. Since the maybe-fruit were cold, the one he examined didn’t offer much scent by which to judge it.
After shifting the one he’d investigated to his other hand, Taloombray bit into it experimentally. The mottled reddish-yellow skin gave way to a white, crunchy interior. Though crunchy in fruit was generally a sign of not being ripe, this thing was sweet and slightly tart. Plus, the Wookiee guessed the ship’s owner wouldn’t have stocked it with food unfit to be eaten. He tossed the other two pieces of fruit to his Jedi companions while holding his test piece in his teeth, then fished for a couple more before returning to the other side of the bar where he'd been prior to his foraging.
<In all the time I served with the Republic, we never encountered younglings in conflict settings. Let alone as one of our targets. It’s hard to believe the soldiers would endanger younglings. Regardless of orders.>

*Garrett takes a long sip from his drink while he hears what Tomias and Taloombray had to say. Tomias' remark about all of the crew being asked if they wanted to leave struck Garrett in a funny way. He hadn't directly been asked if he wanted to leave because he was bound to Lee. This was the first time since he had "rejoined" the order, that he actually felt like he was back in the game as it were. As a padawan, he was obligated to follow his masters lead, and trust his judgement. Although under these circumstances, Garrett was sure that most padawans would doubt their masters.
Garrett was almost caught off guard when Taloombray threw a piece of fruit at him. He catches it and takes a bite before addressing his companions again*
If the troops there know what's good for them they won't harm the younglings because if that happens the gloves come off. I have no doubt that the masters there will defend the younglings by whatever means necessary. This whole thing is.. it's just a mess.
*he shakes his head as he says this. Really that's the best way to describe the situation. Nothing was clean about it, there were unknowns to every aspect*
We could probably stay up and talk about this karked up situation until we arrived at Telos, but y'all should probably catch some sleep before the next watch starts. Who will I be waking up when my time has concluded?

*Tomias catches the fruit Tal tosses his way and bites into it as Garrett begins talking in response to Tal's statement. Once he's done he chimes in to make a comment.*
Well I've seen some of the hate that people, not just the soldiers, have for us jedi. Its sad that this hate runs within our own Republic ranks. Some still hold grudges against the order because of the council's decision with the whole Mando Wars event. Then there are just the things the Sith have done and people don't see Jedi and Sith. They see Force sensitives and users.
*Tomias takes another bite into the fruit.*
Granted this doesn't include everyone. Not even a majority of the Republic feels this way towards us I believe. But if the order like this came from a high seat of power and they did the soldiers are only following there orders in acting them out. We''ll just have to keep that in mind.
*Tomias when Garret suggest they get the watches started. He turns to Tal who was last with Lee and Master Vrook.*
Did Master Vrook or Lee have a specific order they wanted to go in with the watches?

The Wookiee nodded gravely when Garrett mentioned the “gloves coming off” and the mess it would be if the Republic soldiers had harmed any younglings. He had momentary memory flashes of the few incidents during his years in the Rwookrrorro military when Wookiee children had been involved, harmed, or—Ancestors forbid—killed by Trandoshans or other enemies. It’s not like he or his troupe had ever been known for their mercy when dealing with such villains, but those occasions had elicited notably savage retaliation from him and his brothers in arms. They did not brook any harm to children.
Tomias’ input on the matter drew Taloombray’s attention away from some of the gruesome memories Garrett’s words had inspired. The concept of hate being the explanation for the Republic military’s actions regarding the Jedi was troubling. Not only was it concerning in its own right, it conflicted with his experiences.
Taloombray and his troupe had joined up with the Republic Navy because of their appreciation and respect of the Jedi. The troupe’s decision had been in large part a reaction to working with the Jedi during the Great Hunt and a desire to help on a wider scale after seeing what the holy warriors of the Republic faced. Taloombray had admittedly been “out of the loop” for some time regarding the politics between the Jedi and the Republic, but he found it hard to believe hatred for Jedi could explain the Republic’s recent decree.
The other thing that bothered the Wookiee was the unfortunate truth behind the Arkanian Jedi’s caution of the soldiers “just following orders.” That had always been a puzzlement and source of conflict between Taloombray’s troupe and the Republic soldiers they served with after joining.
They had discovered that Republic and Rwookrrorro military culture was very different, with the Wookiees not being used to compulsorily follow any and all orders, regardless of their content. Though the Rwookrrorro military had been the most organized of any of its kind on the planet, when compared to the rigors of the Republic structure, they lacked significant standardization. Though this sometimes caused problems, it had allowed for much more moral decision-making among the individual soldiers. Still… it was good to keep in mind.
Tomias’ question about watches drew Taloombray out of his contemplations of his past.
<He said he’d take last watch and Garrett’d take first. But second and third are between us.>
The Wookiee momentarily took a bite of his fruit. He’d eaten all of the softer side flesh from the thing and now just had the harder center portion. He used his larger back teeth to crunch off a part of the not as sweet core of the fruit.
<Either one works for me. Whichever it is, I’ll only get about four hours of sleep.>
Despite his exhaustion, the old soldier was not good at being able to fall back asleep after waking up. If he got second watch, he’d stay up until his watch and sleep after. If he got third watch, he’d head to bed, sleep until his shift, stand on watch, then likely stay up and chat with Lee.

*Tomias nods to Tal.*
Well since you will be up anyway I'll take the 3rd watch.
*Tomias hoped that he could use his time during the watch to get in some training with Master Vrook. He still wanted to polish up his Force Wave ability and he felt that Master Vrook would probably be the best choice. Tomias was also heavily fatigued. He had no clue how his body was still holding together as it was. He stands up and slowly moves to the doorway. *
I'm gonna crash in my room. When it's my turn come wake me if I am not up beforehand. I'll see you guys later.
*Waiving to Garret and Tal, Tomias exits the area and heads to his room. He opens the door and slowly enters the room. Tomias takes off the upper half of his attire and his boots. As he disrobes, he rubs his abdomen area. It was kinda sore and tender to the touch. He crosses his arm across his chest to stretch and a couple of cracks and pops can be heard. The same happens when he stretches his other arm. Now more limber than before he rolls in the bed covers up and falls asleep. *

*While Tomias and Taloombray work out the guard schedule, Garrett begins cleaning up the mess he made in the galley, cleaning out skillets, etc. By the time he has finished the subject of watch duty had been resolved*
Sounds like a plan then gentlemen. I suppose I'll tag along with y'all back to your quarters so I don't knock on the wrong door when my shift is done
*he chuckles after saying this but it was no laughing matter. Waking up master Vrook would be a terrible thing to do. He then begins making his way to where everyone's quarters are, as he speaks to Tomias*
Did our pilot give you too much grief when you spoke with him? I have no problem being a thorn in his side during my watch if he did.

*The elderly Jedi Master, having indeed fallen asleep right where he sat, opens his eyes as Lee clears his throat. Sensing that the young Jedi is hoping to engage in serious conversation, Vrook sits up straight and rolls his shoulders in an effort to shake off the remnants of sleep. His aching joints make a quiet popping sound, reminding him of his age. Lee's question certainly doesn't make him feel any younger either, and calls up many old memories from years long past.*
"Not formally, no. I never met him until I was a Knight, and we did not begin working closely together until after I myself became a Master. Naturally we had our disagreements, but he was a close friend and I still valued his wisdom. Of course, even Masters never stop learning, and Master Vandar occasionally held informal Masters-only lessons in advanced Force techniques for Consulars. I also learned a great deal about diplomacy by observing him in action. But no, he never gave me any direct formal training."

*Lee couldn't help but crack a small smile when the old master began talking of his experience with Master Vandar. He knew the two didn't agree on everything, but that's not what made a close relationship and Lee understood that. What made it was the fact you could respect the other's opinion despite if it went against your own.
Lee didn't know what exactly he'd get out of Master Vrook's answer, but he was satisfied all the same. It was nice to hear about his former Master and what he was like. Lee drifted off into thought for a little while. He hadn't had the close working relationship that he wanted with his Master. He felt there was so much more he could have taught him. Part of Lee felt a sense of emptiness for never being able to get that. It was a missed opportunity, and one Lee regretted.
The pairing may have seemed odd at first. Lee was probably better suited for someone like Master Kavar, yet it was Master Vandar that chose him as a padawan. Lee learned much of the Force itself from his Master and Lee's Ataru form took it's own polish from training under Master Vandar. Ataru was the form Lee utilized the best and understood the most. There was good reason for it. Though Lee chose the sentinel path at first, Lee's expertise began shifting to mastering weapons and combat over time.
Here recently, that was becoming more apparent. Lee knew the Force and how to utilize it in certain aspects, but he was especially trained in combat. For much of his time at the Enclave on Dantooine, Lee spent time training under Master Kavar who was a fabled combatant amongst the Jedi. Even Lee couldn't help but get a little swollen ego over getting so much training from two powerful, well known Jedi Masters. It was a swollen ego that Lee had been trying to get away from lately.
When he was younger, it was all about that. It was about being trained by them. It was about being the students of those masters and having their names attached to him. As he got older, however, that arrogance of attaching one's self to the notoriety of another gave way to wanting to clear his own path. He didn't want to be the student of Master Vandar or the next Master Kavar. He simply wanted to be Lee. If he was going to be known for anything, he might as well be known for himself. But he pushed these thoughts back as he responded back to Master Vrook.*
You're the only one here who really knew him.
*Lee didn't think he could throw himself in that category. It was a sense of self-doubt on his part.*
He never really told me too much of his past and I never got to hear too much about him. I knew of the part he played during the times of Master Degan and the Star Forge, but that's practically it. He always told me to be mindful of the present and focused on what was going on at the present time.

"If it is any consolation, even I don't know much about his earlier years. That's because he's a... a whatever-species-he-is. They almost never talk about their past or their origins unless you were there with them."
*The balding Jedi Master makes a noncommital sound of agreement in response to the quoted advice from Master Vandar. He can hear the words just as if Vandar had actually been here to say the words aloud. Vrook waits a moment to see if Lee will add anything else or maybe even ask a direct question, but the young Knight does not.*
"Well, he gave you wise instruction. Speaking of being mindful of the present, why don't we see if there's anything on the news yet about this Order 66. Maybe we can learn something important before we arrive at Telos."
*So saying, he turns on the holoprojector in the lounge and changes the settings from private communications to view the public broadcasts.*

*The projector flares to life and a flickering light blue hologram of a woman behind a desk appears.*::... because no one really knows what happened to him. If you're just tuning in, this is Jane Dawn, head broadcaster for HoloNet News, coming to you live from our headquarters on the wonderful outer rim planet of Dantooine, and I've just finished my half-hour segment entitled "Thrawn's Pants." But now onto something more current and slightly less disturbing. Yesterday afternoon the Supreme Chancellor called for an emergency session of congress. I start with the following clip.::*The images shifts to footage taken the day prior of Chancellor Pryn speaking atop the center Senate podium**Chancellor Pryn stands as the murmurs die down and lifts his head. His eyes are heavy and his face far less animated than normal. For all intents and purposes he looks ill. He slowly moves to the center of the podium as he pulls back his blue cloak to reveal his pale blue skin. He looks around to the hundreds of Senate pods. A HoloNet News cam droid whizzes around the central pillar, capturing the address and relaying it across the galaxy.* *Though his appearance looks weary, Pryn's voice booms out into the Senate Chamber, exhibiting confidence and stern resolve.* "Ladies, Gentlemen, transgendered, and androgynous members of the senate; I speak to you today in response to a tragedy that has befallen the Republic. For five hundred generations, the Jedi Knights have been guardians of peace and justice for this Republic. I speak to you today, because the Jedi have abandoned this role." *The images shifts slightly, signifying a break in the speech to a later part.*"It is with great sadness that I report to you today, that recent evidence has directly implicated the Jedi in each of these acts of treachery against the Republic." *Again the image shifts*. "The evidence implicating the Jedi was only recently discovered following yet another attack against the Republic. A Jedi Knight, with aide from others in his order, broke containment at the Centax-1 penal facility and slaughtered several of our loyal soldiers, injuring many more." "Due to the recent evidence brought to light, and the malicious actions of several within their order, myself and my closest advisers believed a coordinated Jedi plot to inflict unimaginable damage to the Republic was imminent. In order to protect our sacred Republic, and to ensure the safety and security of our people I was left with no other option but to declare all members of the Jedi order enemies of the Republic. Even as we speak, Jedi across the galaxy are being arrested and brought in for questioning." "I will not sit idly by and allow this Republic that has lasted for hundreds of generations fall into ruin by the actions of this fanatical cult! All Jedi will be questioned, and the full scope of the plot against the Republic will be discovered. I tell you all this now because it is your right to know. It is your right to understand. It is your right to be informed. The Jedi have betrayed us all and have sought to destroy us time and time again. When you elected me as your Chancellor, I promised action. Action that would defend and protect this Republic. Today I am fulfilling this promise!" *The image fades and is replaced by the bubbly female reporter once more*::And there you have it, sentient creatures of the galaxy: the Jedi are the bad guys now. This of course has come as a surprise to many throughout the quadrants, as the Jedi have been universally recognized as the guardians of peace and justice in the Republic. Though rising tension on Coruscant and recent questionable actions made by the order has created a rift in the public community - as many claim the Jedi had recently abandoned the citizens of the Republic. To speak more on this is our Inner Rim correspondent, Bob McBob. Bob?::::That's right Jane, we've been hearing about the growing Anti-Jedi sentiments for several months now. First after the assassination of Supreme Chancellor Organa, and then more vocally after the attack on 500 Republica. Just yesterday the Chancellor's Office released a written statement linking the Jedi Order to those atrocities and citing Jedi's action (or inaction is some cases) to be the root cause of this. And I quote, "The Jedi have routinely disregarded the general well-being of Coruscant and the Republic as a whole and have even refused to render aide when requested." That's a direct quote from the Chancellor's statement which also lists known Jedi collaborators such as war hero Admiral Carth Onasi and Senator Kale Antilles - who has been missing since the Jedi's abandonment of Alderaan. I spoke to one woman today that said she felt "personally betrayed and taken advantage of" by the Jedi. Strong words, Jane, and words that I think will be repeated throughout the inner-rim and beyond. Back to you.::"Thank you very much Bob. That was Bob McBob from our broadcasting partners in the Inner Rim. Stay tuned for continued coverage or visit HNN's HoloLink and my personal blog by typing in the statement, "Jane Dawn is my favorite, ZOMG." When we come back... "Ten Sith Spies. Where you should expect them, and where you shouldn't!"::*The image fades and is replaced by a rotating HNN emblem on the holoprojector.*

*Lee's eyes grow a bit wide with astonishment. Master Vrook was giving consolation? To him? Huh. Mustafar must be experiencing one heck of an ice storm. Lee's thoughts briefly go back to his time on Ilum before the Exile rescued him. Ice planets were not his favorite. Between his experiences there and on Arkania, he thought ice worlds should be avoided at all costs.
But those thoughts are interrupted when Master Vrook decides to turn on the news. Lee's attention is sudenly captivated when the image of the Chancellor appears. Lee turns his chair around and watches with every bit of attention he could give. He was speechless. The more the report droned on, the more Lee's jaw dropped. The young Jedi Knight couldn't believe what he was hearing. He finally stood up from his chair when it was all over. His thoughts were racing.*
That...that-but we served the Republic faithfully!
*Lee has a flashback from his times aboard Republic hammerheads and other capital ships. He remembers fighting alongside Republic soldiers in various battles. Perhaps he wasn't the most well known Jedi to some, but he fought and bled for the Republic alongside the Republic! It was a sense of betrayal, yet Lee still couldn't quite grasp it.*
There were good men and women I served alongside. Yet to be cast as a traitor so easily without my own right to speak for myself just because I'm a Jedi?! Did my actions mean nothing?!
*Lee was having a lapse of judgement. Infront of Master Vrook himself he was allowing anger to take ahold of him. But he couldn't help it. He felt betrayed. The government he served and swore to protect was now branding him a traitor. The government that spoke for freedom of all sentients. For free will, freedom of speech, and so on. Yet to be branded a traitor without a right to defend himself. Had the Republic become so unreasonable? When did it become so unreasonable?*
The Republic must have died along with former Chancellor Vienna Organa.
*Lee remembered his meeting with the Chancellor. From the brief encounter, he viewed her as a fair and reasonable woman with the core beliefs and standards of the Republic held closely in her heart. This new Chancellor he knew nothing about, but he seemed so ready to condemn him. Lee clinched his fist and began pacing, thinking over the entire situation. His anger was not helping and he could start to feel the pain of old wounds the more he concentrated and focused on it.
Something whispered in the back of his mind. Whether it was his own consciousness or what, Lee did not know. Whatever the case, it snapped him out of his thoughts and his clinched fist was now relinqueshed. He shook his head and folded his arms across his chest. After a few moments in thought, he finally turned his attention to Master Vrook.*
I am sorry for my outburst Master. Forgive me. I think I will retire to my room, to rest and meditate on this.
*Clearly Lee wasn't taking this well. He leaves the old Jedi Master as he rubs his forehead exiting the lounge. He retires to his quarters and does exactly what he says he'd do. For hours and hours on end, Lee did not leave his room. He slept, he meditated, and so on. He only left his room just when he felt their arrival to Telos was close at hand. He left his room to bathe and clean himself up.
He then donned his Jel Shay armor yet again, as well as equipping his belt and lightsabers as well. He wasn't going into this ill prepared. The Jedi would have their defender. The youngest of the Order would not be put in harm's way over the far reaching conspiracy theories of the Republic. Lee leaves his room after dressing and equipping himself properly and heads back to where the cockpit area is. He sees the Arkanian pilot still in the pilot's seat.*
So how much longer until we reach Telos? Soon?

Post by Taloombray on Feb 14, 2012 23:26:45 GMT -5
When the watches were sorted out, Taloombray showed Garrett which room he'd claimed then bid a good evening to the Jedi. With no intention of sleeping prior to his watch, Taloombray took a seat in the room and took out a datapad to write. As he had decided earlier, Taloombray began documenting recent events as they pertained to the Jedi, the Republic order to arrest them, and the reasoning behind his decision to ignore that order. About half an hour into the old soldier's writing a growing discomfort in his guts made itself known. At first, Taloombray didn't think much of it — just a passing pang — and shifted in his seat. Quickly, however, the sensation of gastrointestinal pain grew and developed into something he was familiar with; he'd eaten something his body couldn't digest. It was something that he'd dealt with frequently as a slave. Commercial slave owners fed their chattel based on what was cheap and available, not what worked with individuals' specific nutritional or digestive needs. With irritation, embarrassment and resignation, the Wookiee returned his datapad to his bandoleer's satchel and staked himself out in his quarter's 'fresher. He stayed there for most of an hour hoping for the sake of his personal dignity that the walls between the quarters were sound proof. When the majority of his digestive issues had passed — or so he hoped anyway — Taloombray thought it in the best interest of personal hygiene and courtesy to his human companions that he clean himself up. The luxury craft's passenger quarters' 'fresher units came complete with fully-equipped sonic showers. Given his loathing of getting wet, Taloombray was pleased for the sonic device which cleaned without the need of water. True, the things always made his ears ring, but it was better than getting wet and the feat of getting dry again. When he stepped out of the shower he shook his fur out and smoothed it down in the places where it stuck up. Eventually deeming himself clean, and with his lower gut only occasionally grumbling, the Wookiee re-donned his bandoleer and belt and headed out for his watch. Taloombray relieved Garrett without ado and the two-hour watch was uneventful. Between making rounds around the ship and making a point to let the obnoxious Arkanian pilot he was being observed, the Wookiee tried to identify what it was Garrett had put in the night's earlier meal that had so disagreed with his innards. Since every element of the meal had been alien to him, it could have been anything. The Wookiee guessed the meat — "pork" Garrett had called it — was not an issue. He'd never heard of unspoiled meat causing his reaction. And Taloombray thought it unlikely the fruit and greens were to blame. The more unknown elements of the spicy spread and the gooey substance on the meat were more suspect in his mind. After inspecting the spread and finding it unremarkable, he withdrew a block of whitish something or other which was the same color as the gooey stuff on the sandwich. The wrapper — which Garrett had folded over on the open end after he'd used it — had an ingredient list and Taloombray soon identified the issue. Whatever the food item was, it's primary ingredient was "cultured bantha milk." Taloombray returned the item to its cold cabinet with disgust. He had never understood the human tendency to consume the milk of other mammalian species, and non-sentient species at that, or to eat hardened, fermented versions of it. How it was that they were even able to consume such items without the abdominal pains that afflicted him was was beyond his minimal knowledge of internal biology. He, like everyone of his people he knew, had lost the ability to digest milk around the age of two after he'd outgrown the dependance on his mother for sustenance. That humans did not seem to grow out of this infantile ability was bizzare. The rest of his watch passed without incident. As his two hours of watch wound down, he knocked on Tomias' quarters to transfer the watch. He was about to return to his quarters when noise from a different area of the lounge caught his attention. The Wookiee drifted close to the sound of voices and saw it was Lee, the elder Vrook, and an HNN newscast. He didn't catch all of it, but the old soldier did see enough of the holo of the new Chancellor to get more of an idea of the troubling new Order. While he agreed with much of Lee's heartfelt rant about being betrayed by the Republic's move, Taloombray was less struck by such feelings. Not only was he not the target of this particular issue, in his perspective the Republic had severely betrayed him when it allowed him (and others) to be enslaved on a Republic world for over three decades. Taloombray considered joining the Jedi elder and perhaps returning to their earlier conversation when a disturbance in his lower abdomen encouraged him to return to his quarters quickly. He stayed there for many hours alternating between sleep and being sick.

The Arkanian pilot had been dozing when one of his annoying passengers started pestering him with questions. It was bad enough their armored pet had repeatedly stuck its weird nose in his business, but did they really have to disturb his nap?
With a slightly audible sigh of irritation, Asca Leth leaned forward and checked his instrument panel. While looking at the readouts he noted the bothersome human had disturbed him mere minutes before his alarm would have gone off. He shut it off with a huff.
"We'll be dropping out of hyperspace in fifteen minutes, Sir."
Leth pecked some keys and made some adjustments. "Do you have any orders for protocol upon our arrival into Telos space?"

*Lee notes the irritated response he gets from the pilot but openly ignores it. He gazed casually at the instruments before the pilot. Lee was a capable pilot himself and deduced he could have piloted this vessel without much hinderance. He was more comfortable with a star fighter, such as aureks, but he was versed enough in various other vessels such as shuttles and freighters.
When the pilot finally responds to him, Lee gives a satisfied grin. Though the pilot's question of protocal did raise Lee's eyebrow. Honestly he hadn't given it much thought, but he was glad he was allowed that opportunity now. He spoke up.*
Yes. Do not hail the fleet that is likely in orbit around the planet. We want to give ourselves as much time to assess the situation. If they happen to turn their attention to us and hail us, then give them House Adasca's creditials along with the ship's ID and tell them we are here on personal business for him. If that doesn't immediately allow us access to dock on the orbital station, it'll atleast stall them for awhile, while they decide what to do with us. You are not to mention our affiliation to the Jedi or the Republic. As far as anyone is concerned, we are employees of Adascorp.
*Lee gives the pilot a curtious nod and then exits the cockpit. He would need as much time as they could be afforded. Even under Adasca's banner, he wasn't going to bet on them being allowed planetside while the Republic was trying to deal with rounding up Jedi.*

Leth nodded and muttered the obligatory "aye-aye" as the human departed. Fifteen minutes later, the Arkanian Breeze's amazingly well-tuned engines shifted into normal space without the usual shudder of re-entry. ((Continued here))

*After Garrett says goodnight to his companions he begins his watch by making a lap around the ship. He doesn't really know what he's looking for but he studies everything he sees as he moves throughout the ship.
As he moseys along he begins to think about his padawan/master relationship with Lee. It was a little strange when he really thought about it. He remembered when Lee was a padawan himself and now Lee was his master. Perhaps that's why Garrett didn't have the blind faith in his master that Lee had in Vandar. Then again Garrett could be over-estimating how much Lee trusted his master's judgement in all situations. His thoughts then went to his other teachers. What if things were different and it was Lord Sion who was leading this mission of questionable survivability? After mulling that scenario around in his head he decided that he would still question the sanity of the mission, but the survivability aspect would be less of a concern. Sion was a powerful man, no, he was a powerful force. He couldn't be called a man anymore because he denied himself the attachments that make a man a man. He had no family, at least not that Garrett knew of, no greater cause to fight for. Garrett then wondered how he would feel if Master Black was leading the mission. He mentally laughs at this thought because he knew he would follow the Exile into any situation without a second thought.
As he handed the reigns over to Taloombray for at the conclusion of his shift. Garrett asks himself the real question that's been on his mind. Can he still trust Lee's decisions? He followed his master's lead in Adascorp, to an extent, and they released a demon. Lee, Astefan, and Garrett survived the encounter with no major injuries (possibly with no minor injuries but Garrett wasn't sure) but the fact that Lee played into Talik's hand so perfectly bothered Garrett. He felt that Lee should have seen the trap coming. Well really he felt that Lee should have ended Talik then and there, but perhaps Talik still could have escaped even before he absorbed Nihlus.
Garrett mulls over his trust issues as he showers. The warm water loosened his tight muscles and made it far easier to relax and think. He knew that Lee would never put him in too dangerous of a situation, and he knew that when Lee was at 100 percent that there were few who could hold their own against him. After admitting those truths to himself, Garrett put his doubts about Lee out of his mind. He focuses instead on more pressing matters: surviving this mission. The best way to prepare in Garrett's mind was to focus on defense. He decides to practice the "force bubble technique he had began to learn while in Arca Jeth's academy. He sits cross legged on the floor and begins to push all distractions out of his mind. His goal was to think about nothing for how ever long he could, and after a few minute he succeeds for a fraction of a second. In time he knew he would be able to completely clear his mind for longer periods of time but for now it served as a warm up as it were to practicing force techniques. He closes his eyes and imagines the protective field around him- not too large around him but enough space to be comfortable. He envisions the force warping around him to create a protective barrier. Moments later he could feel the force forming a bubble around him and when he opened his eyes it was apparent that a barrier had been made. Of course upon this realization he breaks his concentration and curses himself. Garrett repeats this process until he succumbs to the mental fatigue and passes out on his floor*

*Tomias wakes up instinctively and begins to stretch and do a quick routine workout. Afterwards he hops in the refresher and cleans up a bit before switching into some civilian type clothes that were left in his footlocker.*
How generous of our Arkanian client. They are quite comfy though.
*After dressing Tomias hears a knock on his door signaling it was time for his watch to begin. Grabbing his equipment and lightsabers he opens the door to see his Wookiee friend standing there. Before he was able to verbally greet him they are drawn to the sounds coming from the lounge area. As Tomias enters he sees the HNN Holonet broadcast. As he listens he is completely struck with astonishment as to what is happening in the Senate. The things that were said and how it was presented. It was as if this new Chancellor had it out for the Jedi on a personal level and was looking for a reason, no matter what it was, to brand the Jedi as traitors. Even naming some of the so called jedi sympathizers. Something was wrong, Tomias knew this now more than ever.
Tomias begins his watch and decides to make the most of this time by getting in some training. The first 45 minutes was focused on meditation and strengthening his connection with the Force. Clearing his mind of the troubling event in the Senate and focusing on the chaos they were about to go head first into on Telos. He also practices his Force wave technique as well. At first he practices on getting comfortable enough with it to just be able to release one without having to charge up for it. He knew the quicker ones wouldn't be as powerful but it would catch hostiles off guard making room for an escape or something of the sort. He realizes that he has to keep his mindset in a constant focal point of using it so he wouldn't have to spend so much time just to focus on the technique. After a few quick pop offs of the technique he figures its the best its gonna get for right now until he is able to completely focus on it.
The next 45 minutes is on lightsaber combat. Tomias stands in an open area and ignites both of his lightsabers. He holds them both in his reverse grip and begins training using both Forms Soresu and Shien. He figured since they would be dealing with the Republic soldiers that they would be dealing with a lot of blaster fire. These two forms would be great for it and would prevent a lot of casualties on both sides. Tomias works on centering him self and being well grounded when deflecting a barrage of blaster bolts. Deflection was kinda his thing, something his old Master stressed during his training. Seems like it would come into play a lot right now. He then worked on moving and deflection. Staying light on his feet was the key to this training and a little Ataru movement became integrated. Sometimes soldiers were actually more accurate when the target is moving which was the point of this part of the training.
After he finished he spent the remainder of his time just making frequent rounds until it was time to switch with Lee who he sees pass in his armor. He makes a motion signaling the switching of watches and he heads back to his room and begins to switch out of the civilian clothes and re donned his jedi robes. He straps on his lightsabers walks out of the room and meets back up with Lee. He crosses his arms and lets out a heavy sigh.*
What a homecoming we're about to walk into.
*Tomias stands ready to move however necessary. He wanted to help the initiates and the youngling at any cost.*

Ow, sonofa...
*Garrett awakens on his floor with a sharp pain in his neck from sleeping on it in an awkward position. Did he gain proficiency in the technique though? That was his question. He stood and as quickly as he could sought to clear his mind of questions at the very least. He didn't bother with his meditations as he did earlier. If the technique was combat ready he shouldn't need to anyway. He focuses on feeling the force around him and quickly begins to concentrate on making a barrier. After a few seconds he exhales and the bubble is around him. It wasn't fast enough for him throw up at a moments notice, but if he did this minimal preparation he might be able to at least throw it up for a door breach if need be. He manages to hold the bubble for about a half a minute before he can no longer maintain his concentration. It wasn't perfect but it might help keep him, and his friends, alive in this next conflict.
Deciding that he should exit his quarters to at least check in with his master. He steps over to the sink to complete his morning grooming and as he brushes his teeth he begins to take inventory of his personal appearance as late. His hair was considerably longer now resting on his shoulders and his facial hair had grown in quite wildly. After his teeth are brushed he decides that a shave is most definitely what he needs right now. When that was concluded he decided to tend to his hair. He combs it and then decides to do something he probably should have done at the start of this adventure. He begins to re-tie his padawan braid. Upon it's completetion he finds a hair-tie and pulls all of his hair back in a pony tail. As much as he loved his flowing golden locks he knew they would only get in the way in a real fight. With his appearance now in good order Garrett thinks it best to hit up the ships armory. He was set as far as weapons were concerned, but he lacked body armor of any variety and regular clothing did little against blasters. With his lightsaber strapped to his belt he exits his room and heads to the armory.
Once there he notices there are two "armories" as it were. One room contained weapons and grenades and the like while the other room was armor and shields, etc. Garrett steps into the armor room and begins looking around. The first piece he settles on is a black lightly padded armorweave jumpsuit. It would form a protective layer in between the armor plates as well as serve as a mild shock absorber. Since his stamina isn't as high as he would like Garrett decides lighter armor was probably best. He settles on a cobalt colored breast plate that was essentially many free platelets held together by fibercord of various thickness, and finds plates for his shoulders, fore arms, thighs, and more combat ready boots. At this point Garrett is finding all of these items hard to carry and cannot seem to find a bag with which to carry everything. With the door to the armory closed behind him he elects to don this armor. Once he's dressed to kill as it were he exits the armory to drop his clothes off in his room.
On his way there he encounters Lee and Tomias*
Howdy all. *after he acknowledges the group he directs his next comment at Lee* Do we have time to do some quick drills or anything before we arrive?

*Lee hears Tomias' remark as he's walking down the hallway of the vessel toward the lounge again. He gets lost in thought for a brief moment before responding.*
Home. That's a term I could attach to a couple of different places. I was born on Coruscant. Dantooine was where I recieved most of my training and personally consider a home. Though Telos has the Academy that are filled with Jedi, and our home could be said to be where ever we are gathered together.
*Lee grew silent again, but he glanced over at Tomias and gave a smirk that told him he knew what the Arkanian meant. Before he could speak anymore to Tomias inparticular, Garrett, Lee's own padawan, had joined them.*
If only we had the time. We're in Telos orbit now.
*Lee stopped just outside the entrance into the passenger lounge and continued his response to Garrett.*
I was just about to tell Master Vrook and Taloombray. If they're in here that is. I don't favor a game of hide and seek with a Wookiee and an ol-uh-and Master Vrook.
*Those Vrook jokes were hard to let go. Lee shakes his head roughly then enters the passenger lounge again. Hopefully Tomias and Garrett were both following him inside. Without even checking to see if anyone was in the lounge, Lee blurted out.*
We've arrived in Telos orbit, Master Vrook.
*Upon hearing this, surely Master Vrook would have further orders to give. Until then, he turned around to see if Garrett and Tomias had followed him into the lounge.*

The activity outside his quarters had awakened the Wookiee. He luckily awoke smoothly for once, without the initial shock of disorientation about his unfamiliar surroundings. He credited the amazingly comfortable bed with that. In his 240 years he didn't think he'd ever slept in a bed so comfortable. The Arkanians might be hellishly annoying beings, but he approved of their definition of luxury.
Taloombray made his way out into the lounge then followed the sound of voices. He approached what looked like the main group just as Lee was saying something about him and the elder.
<I am unfamiliar with this game. What is it?>

Leth was conducting his piloting duties with bored routine when another ship—a particularly large Republic ship at that—dropped out of hyperspace in Telos space. Momentarily alarmed, the Arkanian pilot monitored the other ship’s behavior before calling over the comm.
::Passengers. A Hammerhead-class Republic ship just joined us in Telos space. I don’t know what it’s doing, but it’s nearby. So far it hasn’t shown any interest in us or indicated it even knows we’re here. Advise me of instructions if they’ve changed because of this new arrival. Pilot out.::

*Lee was in the process of opening his mouth to speak again before the ship's internal comm went off. Lee listened curiously at the new development. A Hammerhead class? And only one? That could mean a number of things. Lee excuses himself from the rest of the crew and heads to the cockpit. He takes a look out the viewport before looking at the readings over the new vessel that was now accompanying them in space around Telos.*
What would one lone Republic Hammerhead be doing here...? I doubt they'd need back up with a whole fleet in orbit and it hasn't joined up with the remainder of the fleet either. I wonder...
*He moves to the comm.*
Excuse me for just a moment...
*He focuses outward before he messes with the comm system. Stretching out with the Force, he was hoping something would be revealed. He reached out more and more, as far as he could with the Force. If there was another Jedi aboard that vessel, they may have even felt him trying to reach out across the gap of space with the Force. It took Lee a couple of minutes, but he finally slowly opened his eyes.*
Familiar presence...that's all I know.
*He didn't even know if the familiar presence was a Force user, Force sensitive, or what. All he knew is what the Force told him when he stretched out, and that was simply that this figure, or even figures, were familiar to him. The chaos and turmoil that Telos, even the universe itself was in might have even been blocking Lee from understanding more than that.
He taps the comm button to send a message to the lone Republic ship, unknown to him that it was the ship of Carth Onasi. He would have to choose his wording carefully, but it was a shot Lee felt he needed to take. He made no attempt to hide or change his voice. Anyone familiar with him might recognize the voice instinctively.*
This is the vessel Arkanian Breeze under the command of Adasca requesting aid from a Carth Onasi.
*Also unknown to Lee was the fact that Carth was familiar with not only Arkanians but House Adasca as well, but that was when Adascorp was under Arloh's brother, Arkoh. Lee was simply trying to maintain cover while, at the same time, trying to poke around to see just what about this lone Republic vessel was familiar to him and why it was here. With any luck, they could have stumbled across an ally. Requesting Carth personally was also Lee's chance to see what kind of reaction he'd get. Carth's ties to the Jedi were very known.*

*Lee waits to see if Carth managed to piece his clues together. After some time he gives a sigh of relief when the transmission comes in to dock with the Sojourn. He quickly turns his attention to the pilot.*
Dock us with that ship on the double.
