"Preparing to leave hyperspace. Entering the Kashyyyk system. All hands prepare for re-entry into normal space." *On the heels of the cargo captain's warning, the old bucket of a vessel shuttered and groaned in protest, bearing witness to inertial dampeners on their last legs. The silver Wookiee braced himself as best he could against the sheer wall of the ship, though little steadying purchase could be found on either the aging bulkhead or the transparent window port from which he would not tear himself away. It had been a lifetime since he'd seen the green expanses of his homeworld so he awaited his first glimpse of it as hungrily as a starving being awaits the first morsel of a feast.* *When the first arch of that beloved green orb came into view, it was as though his heart leapt up into his throat. He was so enraptured with the first sighting of his homeworld that he could hardly see or hear anything. The activity of the normal crew around him was invisible to him, and the sounds of the captain communicating the cargo manifest and crew numbers -- including a detailed physical description of him -- to the capital's ground control fell on deaf ears.* *As more of Kashyyyk revealed itself through the window port and grew in proximity, he was torn between the urge to weep for joy or run about madly, assaulting the crew with his giddiness to be returned home. As his eyes began to sting, and the first of the massive wroshyr trees of Rwookrrorro came into view, he opted to stay self-contained until he could finally touch the wood of his home trees again.* ((continues here))

*Hokan takes a seat next to Caius and opens up the navigational computer on his screen. Where would they go now? The rally point after the battle was supposed to be Vjun, but Vhon knew about that. If anyone else managed to escape the Republic, he'd surely be waiting for them there along with all his Death Watch buddies. Hokan looks over at Caius and realizes that he is not in a right mood. He hadn't been since they had escaped from that damned Republic ship and discovered that the Tracyn was destroyed. Hokan had lost brothers before - his closest of kin, he knew what it was like and what Caius was going through. He pats Caius on the shoulder*
"Why don't you let me take the conn for a while, eh vod? I promise not to crash into any more planets."
*Caius nods and switches places with Hokan. Hokan takes the shuttle off cruise mode and back to manual - it just felt more comfortable*
"I know you want to meet up with the survivors of the attack, but the truth is, vod, we don't know if there were any survivors. We need to get to the bottom of this whole conspiracy, and we need to do it before Vhon realizes we're still out here. You heard what Adenn said, the Death Watch doesn't care who they kill or how they kill as long as they gain control over our vode. Now before we arrived on Dxun, Drexl squad was dispatched to destroy a known Death Watch camp on Rhen Var. Adenn set the charges and we blew it. But... if Adenn was Death Watch all along, then theres a pretty good likelihood that that camp is still around. I think our best option is to get in there, extract as much info as we can and blow the place for good. We'd get the intel we need, and get a strike back against those blood suckers. Setting a course now."
*Caius simply nods his head and looks away - obviously lost in thought*
"Alright vod, I'll set the course now."
*A few minutes later the shuttle jumps into hyperspace for Rhen Var*

*The ship lurches after Garrett asks. Lee looks around. Astefan and Garrett were in the same area as him. Um. Who was going to do the piloting then?*
Hold that thought.
*Lee rushes to the cockipit pilot's seat and takes the helm. Before him was the planet Kashyyyk. Yup. They had arrived at their destination.*
We are here!
*Lee shouts over to Garrett and Astefan. He looks out at the planet before him for a moment and speaks to himself.*
Kashyyyk. It sure has been some time. Last time I was here...a good friend of mine was captured and it took a long, long time before he returned to us again. I hope we haven't returned here to yet another battle.
*Lee crosses his fingers and hopes this time his visit would go smoothely. However, Lee knew his own track record and thought it wouldn't be likely. Lee snaps out of his thoughts and pilots the ship to the planet's surface.*

*The Ebon Hawk exits hyperspace and orbits the planet below. In view is the Independant world of Kashyyyk. Atton runs over a few mundane scans, just to be sure there are no ships present.*
I don't detect any Republic presence.
*Those words sounded so strange, especially with the tone Atton would use if he was talking about an enemy presence.*
Where should we set down? There's a whole planet down there.
*Atton begins pulling up some readouts of the planet below so Kali can see. Ultimately their spot to camp out would be hers. Atton preferred it that way. She was the leader. Atton was content with being the pilot and an extra blasterrr-err-Jedi-on-hand. If Atton played the role of a full time Jedi, he'd not have stumbled over those thoughts. Not playing the part of a full time Jedi, and yet the Republic would be too quick to arrest him. Just great. He now knew how a part time employee felt.*

*Kali looks out the window to see the vibrant green orb appear hanging in the dead of space. It was a welcome sight after traveling through hyperspace for so long. Kali had only visited Kashyyyk once - a long time ago during the Mandalorian Wars. And then it was just a staging ground for the Republic's counter-attack on the nearby world of Randon. A battle that Kali had led herself and one that had halted the Mandalorian advance into the Core Worlds. So her experience and knowledge of Kashyyyk was limited. Though she'd been informed of most recent developments.*
"Err... not entirely sure. I've only just been here once and was on the surface for probably a grand total of three hours tops."
Dweoop wooo.
*The little droid tweedles a soft statement and plugs into the Hawk's navigational system with his extendable arm. Kali looks over at her screen and set of coordinates come up.*
"Huh. Well I'll be damned. The Hawk's been here a couple times before. Most recently with Jacob and Teethree. Looks like they set down at a Czerka landing pad in a village called.... Ra-wook-er-rrru-ro-ro...ro...something. Right. That place."
*Last she checked, the Hawk was still broadcasting a Czerka transponder code. That might be handy. Kali, Atton, and Mira had had it swapped over on Nar Shaddaa a couple years back shortly before heading to Dantooine. The mission had been to retrieve the Sith holocrons there. But instead they ended up liberating the whole planet. Everything exciting in the galaxy had a nasty way of finding her. Hopefully Kashyyyk would be different.*
"Let's try that. Teethree's got the coordinates on my screen. Sixty-one, forty-two, one-oh-seven. Take us in flyboy."

Three hours tops? Sounds like plenty of time to party with the locals and become a world renowned hero. Well, that'd probably actually be true in your case. Nevermind.
*Next to Revan, the Exile was a pretty well known figure. Atton served with both Jedi. However, he had more personal interaction with the Exile. Atton couldn't really recall a time he actually met Revan or interacted with him. However, he knew how Revan led. Both had their differences, but the two knew how to lead and knew how to gain followers.
He glanced over at T3 as Kali explained his little chimes and beeps.*
I'll call that a coincidence, for now.
*Atton's distrust of droids never left him. He was still convinced T3 had attempted to steal the ship from them and was convinced he'd do it again if given the chance. Atton shrugged it off and punched in the coordinates given to him. The ship descended to the planet's surface.*

Post by Enkho Si'khas on Feb 11, 2012 13:45:09 GMT -5
Red's Fortune dropped out of hyperspace above the forest world of Kashyyyk. It was an odd place with largely monoculture forests (the famous wroshyr trees) and little else. Enkho had once read about the desert in the shadow of a mountain, the plains, and the tropical reefs, but the planet as a whole had little diversity. Some scientists speculated this was due to terraforming project some millenia ago by an unknown species. That was often the excuse scientists gave when planets like this popped up.
What if this is normal, Enkho had once asked one of his acquisitions. What if it's natural for some planets to just be all forest, desert, ice, swamp, and so on? The scientist went into some long-winded explanation that Enkho listened to for a time before triggering its shock collar. He couldn't do permanent damage, its future life-mate had insisted on that. She just wanted him home in time for the ceremony.
He sent a signal on Czerka's band and waited response. On the way over he had caught up on current events on planet, the headquarters was gone. They were blaming some Jedi insurgents but Wookies were suspected of also participating. His contract was for either group but there wasn't much data on which Wookies or aliens would've been involved. No faces, no names. It was an interesting contract, part hunter and part detective.
Enkho wouldn't see a credit until he brought in live bodies or corpses and evidence. He could see why Czerka was panicking, this wasn't some great uprising they could just suppress. They had a cooperative king on the throne who wouldn't appreciate wholesale slaughter and a populace now worth credits. They had a small group of targets that hid within the populace and struck out at will.
The Czerka garrison responded to his signal. The docking port was still secure enough to land in. Enkho Si'khas debated trying to use an alias. He could claim to be here for some more benign reason and look around. Probably wouldn't work, Wookies didn't like Saurins or Trandoshans and he would scream "bounty hunter" to anyone with half a brain. Best to just claim he was here for another purpose. He had wanted to look for the rumored beast in the shadowlands, perhaps that would work.
He sent a signal to the docking port and got authorization to land. He didn't use Czerka codes, and his ship wasn't registered as a Czerka ship. He began to descend through the atmosphere towards the docking port.

A small Corellian freighter sits in orbit above Kashyyyk. A smaller Corellian is inside, talking with the authorities and trying not to cuss them out just for being authorities.
"This is the Green Heron to flight control, asking for permission to dock."
"What's your business Green Heron?"
"Got a freighter load of Corellian Ale for Czerka. I'm submitting to customs, but it'd be a shame to let all this stuff go to waste. It's a good batch too. Check again, I thought I was on the list."
"Hmmm . . . there is a run from Corellia expected in about a week from the Goodvalor."
"Galaxy runs on competition, sir. Czerka saw that I could deliver it faster and cheaper than Captain Reily, so we made a deal. Now can I land or not?"
"You're clear for landing, Green Heron. Be advised that Czerka Corporation will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained outside of designated Czerka Safety Zones, due to hostile native populations."
"Yeah, heard your workers were having a serious morale problem. I can take care of myself, don't worry."
"Against the crazed two-meter tall clawed native furballs? You sure you don't want an armed escort?"
"I'll be fine. I signed the liability waiver when I took the contract."
"If you insist, ma'am. Enjoy your stay on Edean."
After all the customs work is over (and Deanna makes a note to send to Elan to thank him again for setting up the credentials, sometimes it was handy to have a forger around) Deanna checks through the tracker she put on her old ship, the True Cake. Apparently Lee stopped here for a while, and according to what news she could get, apparently the Wookiees were having some sort of rebellion against Czerka. The Independence League needed allies, and the Wookiees, if she could help liberate them, would make excellent ones. She hoped. More trustworthy and less nightmarishly creepy than the Kiliks, at least.
And besides, she always wanted to visit the planet her master, Jolee Bindo had been a hermit on for what, couple hundred years? Hell, with how things were going, she had half a mind to see if she could find his old hut and set up shop herself. Whose bright idea was it to apprentice her to Master Bindo? Oh, that's right, the Jedi Council. Vrook must've been busy doing evil rituals in the catacombs during that meeting. She knew Master Vrook must be laughing at her right now. She could feel his cold judgement on her right now as she prepared to land.

Just at the edge of the planets gravitational pull, Brendan's ship exits the jump from hyperspace. Brendan steadies himself after a fast halt like that. He gathers himself, and begins preparation for the travel to the planet below.
"This is a big planet, so no need to worry about heading near a village. We shall head down in the heart of the jungle below. Now, are the stealth systems operational? We still have the ship codes of a Corellian Merchant Cargo Ship, but we take no chances."

Without any delay Lucian initiates the stealth systems on the ship. Lucian had gotten used to this maneuver by now. Over the past year in their travels they have traveled from star system to star system and he had always initiated the stealth systems. At first he was hoping for something to change. Some aura surrounding the ship to flash to life and distort the view from the cockpit, just as the first moments when you turn on a ships deflector shields. A stream of lights flashing from the console in front of them. With a huge build up to such an anticlimactic moment Lucian turns on the stealth function of the ship. It was a push of a few buttons with no change. It did however send out electrical signals so those scanning the area would not register a ship. Lucian had gotten used to the nothingness following him activating the Stealth function and trusted the system to work.
Lucian looks out to see the planet side flying by faster than usual. We were flying very low so we would be harder to spot from those who would dare to venture on the ground. Even at what seemed to be suicidal speed the planet seemed peacfull. Not the magestic snow capped countryside of his home planet, but far from the beaten up, grey, and wretched stench of narshada. For a moment he forgets about the planets inhabitants and focuses solely on the scenery.
"It looks better than I would have thought."
Lucian speaks almost without thinking. He quickly sets his mind on the mission ahead.
"There are obvious issue we have to confront. One being where are we going to start our search? Secondly, without landing at the public landing space, how are we going to land through all this vegetation? I dont see anywhere where we can land safely."
Even with his pesimistic view towards beginning their search on the planet, he grabs his hood from behind his head and lifts it up and over his head; preparing to leave the ship already.

"We begin where we land. From there, we will comb this whole planet if need be. But, we will find him if he's here. As for landing, there will be a spot for us, we just need to find it. We fly in close and search for a landing area. We must haste, for time is not on our side."
Brendan, noticing the stealth systems were online, takes the ship down farther into the atmosphere of Kashyyyk.
