*The Sith Fleet continues their onslaught against the Republic forces. Their attacks and strategies are haphazard and unorganized - partly because of the lack of a Commander, and partly because of the effects of Bastila's battle meditation. Aboard Chiaki Captain Razzik runs a hand through his hair, clearly stressed. Lieutenant Yularen comes up behind him*
=Lt. Yularen= "Captain... We're being torn apart out there. We've lost forty percent of our fighters and three of our ships are in critical condition. One Derriphan has been completely blown away."
*Razzik stares wide-eyed out into space, watching the spectacular battle unfold. He was lost as to what to do. Despair and uncertainty had wrapped around his mind and he simply couldn't think tactically. He turns to face Yularen*
=Captain Razzik= "What?"
=Lt. Yularen= "Sir? What are your orders for the fleet? We are being destroyed out there. Our shields are holding at fifteen percent, but they won't last much longer."
=Captain Razzik= "Yes. Well, we wouldn't want that to happen."
*Razzik runs a hand through his hair again. He didn't know what to do. If Lord Talik was still here... he would know what to do*
"Contact the Avenger. Inform them of our situation and request instruction."
*Yularen nods and walks away to perform his duty, but he knows that will only take more time. They needed a quick and decisive decision. Something was wrong with the Captain... something was wrong with the entire crew in fact, none of them were performing to the best of their abilities despite the fact that their lives were on the line. Had Yularen been a more opportunistic man, he might have seized control of the ship and led an organized counter attack against the Republic ships. But after what had happened on the Avenger, when Lord Talik killed Captain Emmit for mutiny and then sent the entire crew to scrub plasma conduits on Kessel, doing that sounded like a very bad idea. He contacts the Avenger for orders*

"Admiral Brex! We've destroyed one of their frigates. Three other ships are disabled."*The Duros Admiral looks down at the fresh Ensign*
"Yes Conner, I see it as well. They are falling apart. I haven't seen this Sith in this much disarray since the Battle of the Star Forge. The Force is with us. Press our attack on the lead vessel. Drop those shields and send our fighter squadrons into the fray. See if we can take out their engines."
*Brex walks back and forth along the edge of the bridge watching the holographic battle unfold in front of him*
"Blue Squadron, break off your dogfight with those Interceptors and engage the ones at point zero-four, mark seven-seven, mark two. Give some cover to Spirit. She's lost her rear deflector shield."::You got it boss. Blue Squadron away.::*Brex continues his viewing of the holographic display*
"This battle is won. All the Sith can do now is realize that."

*Following a brief conversation with Exar Kun aboard the Avenger, Lieutenant Yularen returns to the forefront of the Bridge beside Captain Razzik*=Lt. Yularen= "Sir. Lord Kun has ordered us to break off the attack immediately and fall back to Kuat."*The Captain turns to the Lieutenant with an aghast look*=Captain Razzik= "What? What about our forces on the surface?"=Lt. Yularen= "They are to be left behind per the orders of Lord Kun himself. We are to leave immediately."*The Captain thinks over the order for a brief moment. He didn't like abandoning his men on the surface - and he sure as hell didn't want to be the one responsible for leaving Lord Bandon down there. But it wasn't his call to make, not if Kun was giving the orders*=Captain Razzik= "Very well. Patch me through to the fleet."*Once he is, he addresses the fleet*=Captain Razzik= "This is Captain Razzik aboard the Chiaki. Command has ordered us to to fall back. I repeat, break off your attack and head for the edge of the system. Recall all fighters and make a hyperspace jump for Kuat as soon as you are clear of the planet. Razzik out."*The Sith fleet obeys the order instantly. The remaining Sith Interceptors break off their dogfights and screech toward their respective capital ships as the large warships themselves halt their fire and bank toward the edge of the system. Once they are clear of Dantooine's gravity well, they each go to hyperspace at varying times. One Derriphan has been completely destroyed, the other is left behind - barely spaceworthy. And one Interdictor class cruiser that has sustained heavy damage remains behind. Its captain, knowing the situation is now hopeless, manuevers his ship into the fray of Republic ships and activates the self destruct system. Hundreds of escape pods jettison and, not more than two minutes later the Sith capital ship explodes in a burst of flame and debris*

"Admiral! The Sith Fleet.... They're pulling back!"
*The Duros admiral nods as he watches the Sith fall back to the edge of the system*
"Good. Then they do have some sense afterall."
*He watches the Sith fighters make a run for their capital ships before the ships enter hyperspace*
"Have our fighters break off and return to the fleet. Let the Sith leave. No need to kick a gualaar once it's down."
*But as he realizes his order, he notices a last Sith Interdictor bank the opposite way as the rest of its fleet and head straight for them. It could only mean one thing... suicide run. The Sith had done the same thing on Kuat just over a year ago. He had been there, he had lost three ships to that one attack, he wasn't going to do that here*
"Belay that! All ships scatter! Scatter! NOW!"
*The Republic fleet breaks apart in multiple directions and fighters scream for cover as the Sith ship enters its targeted area and proceeds to explode. The explosion rips apart a full fighter squadron as well as a good portion of the Sith escape pods that had been jettisoned. Fortunately, due to Brex's quick orders, only one ship is seriously damaged by the explosion - a small Foray-class which looses its engines, life support, and port thrusters*
*Brex sighs after the deed is done. He looks out at the remaining hundred or so Sith escape pods blinking red on his holographic tactical layout*
"Have our ships start collecting the survivors, and send a relief and repair team over to the Spirit. Looks like she took the brunt of that blast. I'll contact the General. Good work everyone."
*Brex turns and exits the bridge to contact General Black*

*By the request of General Kali Black, two transports are sent down to the surface as the Republic Fleet fortifies the system and collects the Sith escape pods. One brings reinforcements, another is to ferry the Sith prisoners to a detention facility*

*Having contacted the unidentified person in the Jedi Enclave, the fleet over Telos adjusts its transmission to contact the bridge of the Dauntless. The person in the Enclave managed to make it through the fleet and, unless the Sith were splashing out on anti-wrinkle cream, didn't appear to be a Sith. Even though, caution would be needed.*
::Dauntless, do you read me? This is General Rhylla, Exultant, I need to contact Jedi General Black with information about a possible Jedi, or Sith, in the old Enclave there.::

*Rhylla waits a few moments until the Duros Admiral appears on her side of the transmission.*
::Of course Admiral. We were contacted just now by someone at the Jedi Enclave, we don't know why he contacted us at Telos but he did. He must have gotten clearance through your fleet not too long ago and he seemed genuine. He said that he was looking for the Jedi, hoping to join them, but I don't know what to make of that. If he is genuine, then General Black can help him. If he isn't, well, I doubt he'll be able to hold his own against the Jedi.::
*Rhylla smiles a little at this last part but keeps it restrained, what with Brex being an Admiral and all.*

*Bhob's ship, piloted by Lee and possibly passengered by Astefan, rises from Dantooine's surface and hits orbit. Lee takes a moment to send the coordinates of his heading to the capital ship of Kali's fleet. At the very least, she'd know where to follow him to. He made sure to transmit his personal ID as well, just so the fleet wouldn't be terribly confused as to who just sent them some random coordinates. Lee wished he had more time to sit on his butt and go through normal, proper procedures but he didn't have time for that.*
*When he finishes, the ship takes off towards it's heading. Towards Alderaan.*

"Truly, in no time!"
*Sha said as they went out of hyperspace, entering the Dantooine Orbit. The large green globe was right down below them and Sha watched it floating in the middle of nowhere. She was all excited about this adventure, about all the new things they were about to discover.*
"You know where to land? It's enormous! And beautiful as well. I never sat in the cockpit before and I never saw so much of all the universe!"
*Sha couldn't believe she was there. Atum seemed to know what he's doing so she let him fully operate the ship.*
"The space always has something to surprise me with. Now let's find a save place to enter the atmosphere."

*He smiled at her words before he heard her next.*
"Do I know where to land? I don't actually. I have heard it is near the Jedi Enclave here, so I can just punch that in and we'll be set.....Except it's on the other side of the planet. Four hours away."
*He set the ship to auto pilot and turned to Sha, facing her.*
"So now we have a bit of time."
*His eyes looked to her Lekku.*
"So, what are those called?"
*He was very much interested by them.*

Post by Sha Cy'ren Duun on Jun 16, 2011 12:33:03 GMT -5
"Oh these..."
*Sha put her left lekku over the shoulder, touching the long green ribbons wounded around them*
"They're called lekku. The Twi'leks use them for communication, but I can't as you know. I lost touch with the culture too long ago, however there are reflexes I still have as you probably noticed. I've heard they store subconscious memories, but I don't know that for sure. I haven't met many Twi'leks in my life, at least not as far as I remember. My biological father I have never seen and my mother was Lethan Twi'lek, a dancer I think. I'm an albino so I wouldn't be so valuable to the slavers anyway. I'm not a part of the nation any more. Strange isn't it? The Twi'leks I met always tried to talk to me using their lekku and I could just stand and reply in Basic: 'Sorry I don't understand you.'"
*Sha smiled bitterly and looked out into the space for a moment.*
"I think the ways of the Force are sometimes so strange and unpredictable. Once you think you can do anything and in the next moment everything is swept away. One day I was a child slave crying after being taken from my mother, the other I was cradled and comforted in the arms of a stranger whom I didn't understand a single word and now I am here at the orbit of a foreign planet with a friend I met just a while ago. I just think it is incredible that such things happen and that they probably all have their purpose."
*Sha shook her head and her lekku returned behind her shoulder. She stared at the infinite darkness outside and all the stars seemed so small they would fit into her hand. Her face seemed sad but it was just the way she looked. She was thinking about her first year on Dorin, how she refused to wear the oxygen mask and almost suffocated, how she feared the Kel Dors and how her new father and his sister slowly gained her trust and love. She wondered about Atum*
~What life he must have lead? What was it like to be a young boy in the service of Hutts? Does he remember his family?~
*Sha decided the family question will be the most appropriate to ask first*
"Do you remember your family? Your mother and your father? Anything about them?"
|
|
|
Post by Atum Vance on Jun 17, 2011 5:24:58 GMT -5
*Communication with Lekku? Is that some sort of telepathy? Atum was confused by this a bit, and he thought he should research this sometime. He nodded at her, wondering why she hadn't tried to pursue her culture when she was freed. He was thinking that question should be for another time.*
"You should at least try to learn to speak the language of your homeworld, shouldn't you? I myself speak basic, and Huttese, but that's because I spent most my time around them."
*It was funny. He spoke more Huttese than basic in Coruscant, but he hadn't met a single person on Telos that spoke Huttese. He was perplexed by that a bit.*
"I never believed in the force until I actually saw a Holocron about it. And then it was like an infectious disease. I had to learn, see more. I wasn't placated by the small knowledge that I had. I needed to explore the universe and become a Jedi. My ability to move objects is MY proof in the Force. Not anything else, unfortunately. Maybe one day, I will understand and see."
"My family? Yeah, if you could call them that. I was born to two homeless humans on the planet of Coruscant eighteen years ago. We did the best we could....but it was hard. My parents were always yelling at eachother and my father fought other people a lot. Well, it was a few days after my tenth birthday when my parents sold me to a Hutt for what I later found out to be a thousand credits. Whether they did it so I could continue to live, or if they were greedy, is beyond me."
"How about you? What did you do on Coruscant? What made you decide to become a Jedi?"

*Sha was stricken by Atum's tale. They were both former slaves, but she had people she could call family. He had no one. It made her feel even more sorry for him and she wished to help him if she only knew how.*
"Oh, I'm sorry, you must feel very sad about your family. I hope one day everybody will see what is wrong and what is right, not only the Jedi and the Sith... everyone."
*Sha still dreamed of an ideal, just and safe world. The idea kept her alive during the most difficult parts of her life.*
"When it comes to being a Jedi... Once on Dorin my father was told I'm probably force sensitive. He hoped I will be a diplomat, but he respected the Force and so he decided he will let me finish the school before bringing me to the temple, but then he got scared of the Sith and he decided the best thing to do is to hide on Coruscant. Probably because there are so many people in the lower levels. I worked there for several years, as a bartender, dishwasher, cook... many places, many different works."
*Sha didn't like work in the cantinas. She wanted never to return there, not even as a guest. The only thing she was looking forwards to was living a life of experience and understanding and she thought that with Atum's friendly and adventurous character, she will have a lot to learn on their travels.*
"I truly look forwards to this small adventure. Thank you for taking me with you, Atum."
*Sha smiled on Atum and realized she truly, truly likes this guy.*

"Don't be sorry. I don't consider them to be family anymore anyways. If only the Jedi and the Sith could put aside their differences and just come together under a united banner...There wouldn't really be anything wrong with the universe."
*He looked at the star map briefly and realized that they would need to enter the atmosphere soon. Had it been that long already?*
"You know, Sha, we might have lived in the same place for a certain time. I can't be sure, but its funny how that works. I was stealing from cantinas and such at age twelve. Probably before you were there though. I really did live the life of a scoundrel."
*He smiled back at her.*
"Hey, what can I say I like to adventure! Maybe after we are both Jedi we can go on another one."

"But first you'll have to build the lightsaber. I hope you will encounter the crystal to power it down there. I was given mine, but maybe I will get one there as well."
*Sha longed for adventure but at the same time she was afraid of it. There were so many things that could go wrong and so many things already did so in the past. Yet her curiosity was greater than her fear. Sha took notice of Atum's look at the star map and was surprised*
"Oh my, it's almost time to get down! Have we been talking so long? It seems the time runs faster when you're around."
*Sha already realized this before. While talking to him, she seemed to lose the sense of time. She felt free while talking to Atum, not so limited by the perception and prejudice of some other people. Sha admired the way he piloted the spacecraft, how watchful and precise he was and she also wished to possess the precision he showed.*
"Will you teach me how to fly a ship like that? I don't mean now, but some day later... I would really like to learn it!"
|
|
|
Post by Atum Vance on Jun 18, 2011 17:54:51 GMT -5
*Atum laughed loudly when she asked for him to teach her to fly.*
"Sha, this is barely my fifth time flying a ship, and my first time ever jumping to hyperspace, and this will be my first time to enter an atmosphere. It's as if something had been telling me what to do the whole time. I can't really explain it."
*He pressed a few buttons on the console and grabbed the various levers, guiding the craft into the atmosphere. He set the throttle to the max as they hurtled through the atmosphere, heat around them becoming a luminous blanket. It seemed as if they were falling forever, but it was only about five minutes before they landed safely in Khoonda.*

No, really? I was thinking of taking a ten minute lunch break first.
*Atton's sarcastic response was to be expected. Sarcasm rarely left Atton. However, while he's making his remarks, he lifts the Ebon Hawk from the ground and the landing gear folds in. The ship turns to face the exit from the hanger and the Hawk goes speeding out of the hanger of the Republic ship.
They needed a destination fast. They needed a place to get away. They needed to hide yet again. This was an all too familiar scenerio for Atton.*

*Kali straps herself in as the Ebon Hawk shoots out of the hangar, looking out the side window she can see the Dauntless drifting further and further away. It wouldn't take them long to scramble fighters. She really didn't want to man the turrets... those things were so damn sluggish and she had had to use them far too often during the Purge. Then again, Brex might just forgo the fighters in favor of a tractor beam. The green sphere of Dantooine was directly below them, and on every side was a Republic warship. They had to make a jump to hyperspace NOW.*
"Teethree! Calculate a jump!"
Dweep dwoooo?
"I don't care where just do it! Surprise me!"
Weeep, dwoooo....
